This episode is so timely. I've been meditating on Ecclesiastes, and one thing I feel like God has been teaching me in this season, is mastering contentment. I resonate so much with what Renee mentioned about ambition being our 'leader'. When we allow our ambitions or desires to control us, we toil/put strain on ourselves, and essentially become slaves to that thing in an attempt to achieve.. it's crazy! Working on my clinical notes, and listening to this. I already know its going to be a great word. I love this topic, and its something I constantly remind myself of, and talk to my husband about. I always reflect on where we were 5-7 yrs ago, and talk about the progress we have made, and how we really need to temper desires and still find joy in the small things. Just because things are a little calmer doesn't mean we now need to have "more house/more car/ more unnecessary expenses" Travel is always a great way to reflect as well. It helps to expand our horizons and help us realize how vast the world actually is, and to not be so "caught up" in the materialism of society.
I love you so much girls! As a Christian gorl 😂 I am constantly filtering what information I allow to enter into my mind and heart. Which sometimes is hard to find since the “world” at times doesn’t match with my faith and what Jesus said. But you two are the perfect duo! 🎉🎉🎉 thank you ❤
Great episode! Just to add on to the “how did you do it” convo, I also feel like there are so many different paths to a similar destination. Sometimes people get caught up in someone else’s “how” and think that they need to do every single thing the other person did to get from point A to B. Everyone’s journey is different.
