very educational..like the beautiful and good quality of jades being featured here...how does a a real jade pendant sounds compared to genuine jade bangles? Are the sounds pinged the same?
Good question! Part of the reason why jade bangles ring is because how it's carved. With jade pendants, they sound a little more like a marble hitting each other but it is a distinctive sound! But yes they do have a similar distinctive sound but not quite the same as a bracelet! We will make another video on that! Thank you for your question!
What a nice video. Thank you for having shared the meaning of each character of pendants. Mr or Madam, I am curious whether the color of type A Jadeite jade can be lighter than before after wearing for some period ?. I have some collection jadeite jade pendants, all of which have already been examined by a reputable gem lab in my country and the result is Type A. However, all of them becomes lighter. One of my favourite jadiete jade is Black Chicken Skin Jadiete jade. The color when I bought at first time was black. However after wearing for nearly a few months, the color becomes grayish than it was before. Does it mean that my collections are low quality ? I am curious f you have discussed about this on your previous videos ? Pls do let me know so that I can learn more about jadeite jade. Looking forward to your upcoming videos 🙂
Hi Lisa! That is a great question! Jane said yes, natural jade can change colors sometimes! Because lower quality jade's structure isn't as stable. It's a characteristic of jadeite and nephrite jade from different mines. Part of the reason why jadeite jade from Burma is so valuable is because they don't change a lot. Compared to Guatemalan jadeite jade which can change if you keep it for a long time. Same for why He Tian nephrite jade is the highest quality nephrite jade! So yes if you natural jade is changing a little bit it is a matter of quality!
