I love doing that and I also wear my now vintage name necklace from the days of SATC plus I choose not only different lengths but different chain widths.Extenders can be your best friend so you can customize the length of chains and wear them with many more stacks!

I saw a a different texture chain with different kind of size links. It is from the Dutch brand Bron in english spring or source. I have necklesses with moons or stars and i want a neckless that balances that out.
