Once all is said and done, I think we’re gonna look back on this era of heavyweights and appreciate AJ the most. Of all the top heavyweights, he’s easily the one that has risked the most and I personally will always respect him for it.

I really appreciate that you are so fair towards AJ. I feel like so many people dismiss him for being fake and this and that. But I always felt bad for him when he suffered a loss, even though I am the biggest Usyk fan imagineable. So many other fighters even get appreciation in their loss, but for some reason people are so damn harsh towards AJ. He definetly is a role model for me with regards to how people treat you, because he still challenges himself and does not make any excuses. After his second loss to Usyk all I could remember of AJ was his question "Why? I did everything. Why did it not work out in my favour?" That was relateable. He still pushes forward and I think its damn time we give him the respect he deserves. Great video, I like these new kinds of videos!

I'm an Usyk fan too..But I've always rated AJ..I don't understand why he ever got so much hate..The man is an inspiration, His resume is amazing..And hes getting better..Hopefully he stops improving..I don't want him stretching my man..

Same here, his fight with Klitschko was the only reason I started watching and training in boxing. Sucks he gets so much hate.

I tell my son "you win some ,and you learn some". He is 12 and im 40 and still activley training/boxing (for 13 years i boxed/trained) ive taught him his stance and how to step and how to jab when he was around 5 and he wasnt that interested in wanting to learn to box but sometimes he wants to join me when im training at home every so often. So i always had him steping and throwing 1-2s over and over with everything we did. Because i want his basic fundementals sharp. But now he has been sticking with it lately and he looks good working his combos etc... but sorry about the novel , im just so proud of my boy, and your comment remided me of what i tell my son. Mayweather made popular that thing about having an undefeated record that is destroying the soul of the sport causing a lot of important fights to not be made. Those losses were hard, but joshua has learned to squeeze the positive in them and has made him a sharper fighter. Before he was too comfortable up there and all that fame got to him. Now i can see that focus in him to the sport and i believe this current joshua would destroy past undefeated joshua. Truly an example of self improvement which is most important. Legends like lennox lewis, Muhammad ali, and sugar ray leonard would not be legends without those setbacks they had from losses. Coming back from losses stronger is what makes a fighter not just good, but great. Joshua is mounting a comeback like the legends of the past and i still appreciate him being a great champion by taking on the best and risking his record. Even with those losses, he still has the best resume in the heavyweight division. He lost to usyk twice, but there is no shame on losing to an already established hall of famer and one of the best cruiserweights of all time.

People like you are doing a very important thing. They’re highlighting just how great AJ actually is. He was a genuinely great champion, a role model and ambassador. He loses, he tries to rectify in the rematch, which was much closer than people thought. He then goes on a rebuilding and soul searching phase. Rebuilds, finds his perfect fit coach and is boxing better than ever. All the while he very rarely engages in trash talk or negativity. The discipline and guts that takes is incredible. He also is willing to fight ANYONE. I think the guys a hero and is going to go down as an all time great People have been fooled by Wilder and Fury for too long now and they are being exposed for what they always have been.

I am a 27 year old woman. Got into boxing a couple years ago. Something about it keeps me so grounded. My favorite fighters tend to be the ones I feel have the heart (a lot of fighters I know). Joshua remains to be an inspiration to me. How everyone doubted him against a mma fighter and ever seeing naganou and fury argue while it was supposed to the fighters moment lit a cord in me. I saw myself in Joshua and his journey. Currently going through a massive failure in my life. A life altering defeat. This video picked up my spirits a bit. Even gave me a bit of hope. Thank you.

I recently just lost my fight in a controversial decision where many people felt I won and I’ve looked back on the fight looking at the moments where I may have lost it’s something I have to learn but I hate losing wit a passion ty for this video

Man. This is timely. I've had a rough go of boxing. Particularly in sparring. The week goes well. I feel good and confident. Then I spar and shit falls apart, in my mind. Everyone watching says I'm doing well but I struggle to celebrate those positive moments. I'm hyperfocused on the mistakes I make. You're right. I've got to be better to myself in those moments.

I'm so glad I came across this video. I'm part of the training team for young professional mma fighters and one of the hardset things to deal with for them is loss because they're in their late teens and early adulthood so they don't have those tools yet, and it doesn't help having social media as well. Will definitely be sharing with my boys

AJs story is very inspiring. His reactions to the Usyk losses were very hard to watch, and I didn't think he would be able to come back from it. But he never stopped trying to better himself, and now he's back on top

That was tough to watch. I saw both Usyk fights and I feel like I took every shot from him that AJ took. Felt the same way in the first Ruiz fight. I’m an AJ fan bcuz he makes no excuses in failure and he doesn’t become obnoxious or braggadocios in victory. He doesn’t project a self centered attitude or act as if he’s the king of boxing or the hw division. Even though his career revitalized he boxing after 10 years of Klitschko dominance and disinterest from the casual boxing fans. I’m a fan of boxing since the ‘70s. AJ is a class act.

I had 4 street fights in HS 1 won 3 lost. I look at myself like less then a man everyday i feel that everyone looks down at me and i have nothing. But i stood my ground. I went in i did what i had to do even if i didnt give it my all i gave it something. I put in the effort and thanks to this video i have seen this. I will now join boxing classes

No intention to compare the two. But the examples the greats have set, like Ali, after losing the Fight of the Century, he stayed on the grind, went on a win streak, got done by Norton, bounced back, and finally got Frazier, all while clearly not even being in his prime. People must've thought Ali was second best between those 1st 2 frazier fights, especially after the norton loss. Amazing to see Joshua trying to follow the same footsteps.

AJ has been my fav boxer since i've got into boxing. Huge role model, Faces the best and takes risks. He loses? He's looking to come back and improve his game instead of giving up and he got a lot of hate and pressure during all of it. Im glad he's back to winning ways cause hes looking like his old dangerous self and could even be more dangerous then before

This video came out two days after I lost my 1st boxing match. I rewatched the tape, and I noticed I was somehow just not using my right hand enough. I held back. Its a very high chance I will rematch the same guy again, so now I know what to do. And I know one loss, espexially on the 1st ever boxing match, doesnt mean its over.

I lost my first fight too man, it's disappointing, upsetting and difficult to accept but today... I'm a champion literally because of it. I learned from it. I lost in semifinal and one full year after defeat I won in the final against the opponent who beat me the year prior. Bernard Hopkins lost his first bout, Olympian Paddy Barnes lost several of his first fights before he established the impressive amateur record and began his Olympic journey. "Failure is not determined by successes, Success is determined by failures" try and keep the head up, the hands up but the chin tucked in champ. Continue to work hard and you'll get there soon my friend. God bless 🍀🤜🤛

Other boxers top boxers today would have a really long layoff after losing twice in a row. Joshua returned in less than a year and fought 3 times in 2023, which is a lot in these days.

Many non boxers think that boxers fear geting hurt in the ring, that they fear geting punched. 🤦‍♂️In reality boxers fear losing, fear not being good enough to beat their opponent. When you put 100% into training and win or lose you are overwhelmed with emotions. This is why boxers might breakdown and cry after important tough fights. When you truly care about something getting it or losing it will make you emotional. It shows your love and passion for whatever you have gained or lost.

Great video. People always talk trash about AJ which is annoying af. Yes he had a meltdown… ok? So what? He’s human. For years he’s been a fantastic ambassador of the sport and has represented England brilliantly. I fully believe AJ 2.0 under Ben Davison will destroy Usyk and flatten the gypsy con Tyson Fury.

If AJ had fought dirty like Dubois and roughed up Usyk like Chisora additionally with his own power to put fighters away when the time comes I believe he would have won. The tactics both times out were off, not his actual abilities. You must play to your strengths and pressure your opponents weaknesses.

This might sound weird but I think Anthony Joshua is a much, much better underdog than defending champion. Or just "champion". I don't think that attitude or status really compliments his personality. He IS an amazing person but the "pretty boy lifestyle", the "blingbling" persona as exhibited(to me) most starkly before the Ruiz fight(to me, as a "amateur spectator") I really thought "oh oh". He is not taking this seriously at all. There is a poison in this for people who believe in the "on top of the world" bs that just does not apply to anything. I have been on top of mountains. And even if you are there, you really can't stay there for a long time. It's not a place to live. For sure, he is different. He has a very distinct and deep personality. So do others. But he it. It's not "part" of him. He wears his heart on his face. I really, really like that. It says trustworthy. To some degree. If he is really in control of himself and not a dream or a vice or a manager or a team or whatever. He triumphs and suffers equally strong. Pretty cool. But he should STAY OUT of the limelight. And just have a good time with people that he can trust. Whoever that is. So that he can learn to trust himself and be in control of that. The more he is control of himself, the better a boxer he will be. And for someone who is already athletic and can deliver tons of sweat training wise, I really don't think that hard training has anything to do with the kind of discipline that is good for him. ?. I see it this way. The guy is big, the guy is strong. The man was put aside for something(Boxing) when he really, maybe, wanted to play soccer. By chance, he is actually really good at boxing. But it was not his first choice. First love. He has to prove himself EVERY time. And while for some this is a training mantra to get the most out of themselves when they are already giving 100%(just to stay on that level) for Anthony Joshua, I believe, this is ACTUALLY what he has to do. To push away whatever the hell it is that is bothering. Honestly I really like the guy. Just hope he gets happy before he gets anything else. Even belts.

I have much admiration for those who loose while in search of greatness. Joshua is a good example. Yes, he is a sore loser at times, but only shows how much he cares. I hope that Fury wins next so that Joshua can give him a piece of humble pie.

Joshua was just being a Dbag after the fight. We keep finding excuses to feel bad for AJ during that moment but who throws the rings (that aren’t even yours) out of the ring and then take over the whole post fight interview and takes the spotlight from the actual winner
