i have one that my dad got when he stationed over in the Philippines that looks exactly like the one they made except with a different material for the handles.
I got a authentic balicomb made from Batangas, I just got it from the delivery earlier this day. When I first use it, you cant flip it already because it was so tight, I have to put an oil to lubricate it. So far so good, Im happy with it. My balicomb has a narra and horsebone combination handle. :)
Timo mit Hut that's what the government say's , but our police don't take that rules seriously , I always carry my traditional balisong but they don't mind confiscating it and in fact they even compliment me that I got a nice knife when they see me
One thing that the government will do is to protect the heritage and authenticity of the knife. It cannot be called "balisong" if it is not made in Batangas. Otherwise it is just an ordinary butterfly knife.
Anung connection ng French sa Pilipinas? Problema sa mga Pilipino mahilig gumamit ng Foreign reference kahit sa Anung bagay pwede nmn sabihin na may kapareho kang sa France lol kaya nga balisong tawag di (French batter fly)
MaCaRelli 209 dude, seriously, get one of these hand crafted knifes, work with it a bit and then ask this question again... yeah the beast will flip all day long straight outa the box. We all know that already... but these knives are not mass produced by some damn machine. They're made by guys by hand as this video clearly shows amd you know each of those knives is a one off piece. No two knives will be exactly the same. I myself had one that sadly got stolen out of my apartment, there isnt a day that goes by that I don't curse the sod who stole it. It just worked so damn well.
It's cool that they are handmade and everything, but using iron as a blade? I hope that was just a mistranslation or he meant steel....iron is awful for a knife blade. Awful.
Elof Kjellson it's a mistranslation. They use leafsprings, which are great for knives. It's 5160 alloy steel, my favorite steel for medium- large fixed blade knives.
Guy at 6:48 has obviously never held anything made by Benchmade, Spyderco, Microtech, Bladerunner Systems, HOM Design, or any other number of knife makers who make quality balisongs
+Steven Stauffenenbeurrgettezeinschiesseznerschnell That weird moment when you compare traditional handmade balisongs with american ones, built by machines
And he says you can't get the same quality as hand made knives from mass produced knives, while you are saying those amrican brands are better / comparable.
If you think about it tho, wouldn’t it get you excited to go to the phillipines and watch them make your balisong and know that it is handmade and really Good quality, I mean after all balisongs didn’t originate in America. 😂
