Sir, so much is known about the IAS and the IPS when it comes to knowing the work-profile, work-life balance etc of the officers belonging to the aforementioned services. But at the same time, there are many other services, for which, the information is very limited. As a result, while filling out the DAF, after giving top preferences to services like IAS, IPS, IRS etc, people just give random preferences to the remaining services. But every single service has its own peculiarity and its own charm and hence I feel that the candidates can take informed decisions while filling DAF if they are aware about the nitty-gritty of all other services too. Sir since you yourself are an IDES officer and since not much is known about the Defence Estates Service to the general masses out there, so in this light can you please throw some light on how does working in the IDES feels like, the work-life balance, what exactly is the work all about, the posts which one gets, about the promotion, emoluments, perks and facilities etc. I don't think anyone can explain it better than you!
