Ski Utah heads up to Alta to learn the finer points of blowing The Greatest Snow on Earth from master snowmaker Buck Bowle. Cinematography and Video Editing: Tim Roberts - www.shot22.com
I just started working this season at my local resort. We have the same Demac Lenko guns. It's a cool job, I like it. I'm terryfied about the high preasure hoses, but other than that... pretty sweet (we pump 40 bars of water pressure).
Dragos, I worked at Alta on their snowmaking crew for several years and agree, high pressure hoses are good to be cautious of. But if you ensure they are properly attached, you can add a bungee cord to hold down the clasps (helps keep them properly closed when they are not under pressure), ensure you flag/bamboo mark the hoses so skiers to skier over them, and slowly open the ball-valve and you should be good! "Water Out The Barrel" "make some velvet out there"
alfasud1972 not some humans, some gear. If a snowboarder went there and tried to ski, they wouldn't scan your brain and say, oh you're a snowboarder, can't come in here. They're just banning a type of gear. I don't agree with their decision but I'm just telling you like it is.
@@deepsouthmtb2531 holy shit, this comment is 4 years old. I agree with you, I'm not actually sure what the context of all this is or why I would leave that comment as it seems kind of pointless.
They aren’t discriminating they are simply banning some gear. They will gladly accept snowboarders if they ski. I support the decision and I hope more resorts ban snowboarding too.
Corah or people like me and my friends who like to ski. I don't have a problem with snowboarders and idk why any skiers do. If was up to me Alta would allow snowboarders. The arguments that skiers have for not liking snowboarders are retarded. Like "they make too much noise". I've heard that shit before.
