@@asdf7219 Wrong. Two (non faction) scrams with 4 points are countered by 4 stabs, and the ship can still warp away. It can't warp away if the total is negative, so -1 and lower. If you doubt it, go and actually test it on Sisi or something.
3 points of scram vs 3 warp core stabs would've still let him warp off. Warp is only disrupted if the equation Warpcore stabs minus points of scram is smaller than zero. The Epithal would've probably gotten out if you didnt bump him. Nice Video btw covers much of the important stuff newbros aren't aware of.
@@andrewjackson7970 "Bumping" is the act of running into someone to throw them off alignment to keep them from going somewhere (e.g. a gate) or building up enough speed to warp away. For example in highsec you can "bump" bigger ships, like orcas and freighters pretty much forever until your friends are ready to gank him.
I do wormholes in a fairly unprotected ships, I get ganked 1-in-5 times, it's part of the fun. This was really enjoyable, just seeing what it's like from the other side. I know that most gankers aren't nasty people, they just like the thrill of the hunt. When you go into WHS you buy into the risk volutarily and you take it on the chin if you get ganked, no one holds a gun to your head to make you go into a WH. I do it 'cos losing 15m but making 90m to cover it is worth the work. However I think I like the idea of this...hmmmm...maybe time for a little payback...
Be sure to update your page telling any recruits that they get perks for using your recruiting link. Anyway, all I have to say is...finally a well rounded, simple, explanation of eve game dynamics. Outstanding.
If you wait for him to start moving again after landing on the poco you can get his pi stuff as loot depending on what he does that could be a nice kill
gank verb (Online, MMORPG usage) 1. To kill another player using a group of players 2. To kill another player using any means that places the played to be killed at a substantial disadvantage. Now everyone complaining that this isn't a gank shut the hell up. Holy shit.
Clankplusm Gaming Depends on what your going in with. I 3 man venture gas huff, I have 0 point in running any stabs. If even 1 venture gets out with 2 cycles worth of gas I’ve payed for each ship.
I do PI in a C1 with an Epithal fit like that last one and he'd have gotten away if he knew what he was doing. I have a perch on-grid with every POCO positioned in such a way that the POCO is in-line between the perch and my safe. This means that I'm pretty much already aligned to the safe when I come out of warp at the POCO. Doing it this way I'm only at the POCO for about 7 seconds if I'm just picking things up or dropping off. It takes a little longer to do both but not much.
Hey, nice video. One small correction at about 10:30 Three stabilizers would have mattered if you had not bumped him, since they do neutralize all three points of warp disruption / scrambling from your faction scram. That's why I use a dual scram setup (one TII, one faction) on my cloaky solo ganking boats: The Magnate and Epithal are prime ganking targets, and they both have four low slots.
KollegeKnusprich - yeah I try to run 4 stabs in the Magnate and 3 in the Anathema. Fortunately I’ve never run into someone that’s successfully scrammed me. Need to stay away from you obviously 😂
In the last gank, note that because your target successfully hacked a can, the site will despawn within the hour. It's good to clear out the wrecks one you pop your target, but you can only camp that site for one hour after the first can got hacked. Too bad you didn't go for that drake...it looks like he was ratting with all the wrecks on dscan. He was doing guardian sites and combat sites judging by the wrecks on dscan.
There has been a few changes since this video was made. You cant stay cloaked for more than 15 min at a time now and only one warp core stab can be fitted to ship and now its an active module. Its actually harder to gank people this way but it is also harder to get away if you do get ganked.
I don't know if you're referring to non covert cloaks here as I do not use them. I use the covert cloaks and the 15m timer does display but you do remain cloaked after the 15m is up..
This vid: me before I moved to a wormhole. Scan and bm relic sites in your local pocket. Then come back and start running them with probes out. Looks like you haven't scanned and neut scanners most likely will try the next system or may be ballsy enough to try and run sites in system with you. Just wait and decloak on them. Dual scram helps with career scanners who stab; and it allows you opportunity to kill gas huffers. Or you can just do this in neutral nullsec, but that's risky in active areas. My fav kill was a 650m scanning instawarp ceptor. I caught them because I spent weeks shit talking them, decloaked while they were typing one day and got lucky.
People like you are why I run 3 or 4 warp core stabs in my cloaky frigates, depending on the hull type. It’s actually kind of funny when someone de-cloaks and try’s to scram me and I warp off grid anyway. I can always imagine them throwing their keyboard off the desk, like “really? 4 fucking points???” 😂 I’m always waiting for the day when I see that smart bomb headed toward me out of nowhere and cant move quick enough, though. Hasn’t happened yet, fortunately.
If you're running a cloaky frig, even without cranking up agiliity/inertia/rigs, you should be able to MWD/Cloak jump trick and be mostly untargetable. Just get your align and warp as low as possible (think >3). It will round up on the second so ignore the decimal once you've reduced the whole number as far as you can. You might as well run that with a T2 Frigate with immunity to interdiction (bubble prevention) and you can run that sucker all over the place.
Spencer Reiser - yeah, sorry, I meant exploratizon frigates rather than just a travel interceptor. For me it was more about getting jumped on the cans than traveling through gate camps in these ships. I do tend to run something that aligns faster these days, though. It’s kind of a toss up how you want to run your low slots in these pure exploration ships. Stabs? Nanos? Cargo? If I’m honest, I’ve been using a more balanced fit Stratios more often than anything for exploring when Ive played recently (which hasn’t been much since the New Year, really). A lot of the ships I ran multiple warp core stabs on were T1 frigates like the Anathema, exploring nullsec in the days before before I could run covert ops and the like. Those were fun times, though.
@@acegh0st It's always a toss up between cloaky and risk lag gank or instalock, ceptor and risk smartbombs or hauler and need a scout and it still has its own issues. I just use a logistics corp.
I got my first Astero kill in a C3 red giant(+44% buff to bombs) in a Hound. I one shotted him with a bomb. I was surprised. Probably not as surprised as he was.
Tip - webbing makes slow ships warp out faster, so unless youre expecting a turbo industrial, just scram.and bump it for better effect (web also dampens bumps)
After seeing clips like this I'm very glad I dedicate my time to any other game but this one. Kenshi, new vegas, tropico, civilization. But never this.
I felt the exact same way until a few weeks ago. One of my friends at work talked me into trying it out and I got hooked lol 😂 if you enjoy the others stick to them! Those game may take your money, but Eve takes your soul
I've always wanted to do this kind of thing in eve, but I don't understand. The graphic covers your "local"...why are these people just puttering around doing missions or whatever they're doing in nullsec with a red in the system? I'm assuming you're red(pirate). Do they know and just don't care? Is this part of some new system where they can't tell? (yes I haven't played in ages).
The people he’s hunting, they are explorers. They’re in a space called wormhole space where there is no local chat (so you can’t tell how many or if anyone is even in the system) these systems are profitable for exploring, aka doing relic or data sites, or even mining or gas harvesting. In eve, you already know that number one rule “Don’t undock what you can’t afford to lose.” because PvP can happen anywhere. Since it’s wormhole space there’s no concord to protect you, so you’re entitled to greet engage anyone you please. Explorers are easy prey, well if they aren’t bait, and are typically hunted by other people such as gankers.
It’s also profitable hunting them, as you get a percentage of the loot they’ve dropped from doing missions and the satisfying feeling of a successful hunt.
It is the PvP that drives the market and makes the vulnerable play profitable/worth while. But listening to him talk, I get the impression he would enjoy kicking his dog.
To each their own, but I have never found this to be fun. Don't get me wrong, pvp is cool, and large battles are amazing, but ganking players, especially new players or players just doing their own thing is boring to me. But I get it, this is what Eve is all about.
One ancillary rep usually, one regular rep. You can single-click cycle your armor rep and once you've loaded paste the AAR has impressive stats, the only part that sucks is loading new paste, 60 seconds. You can overheat it AARs for solid benefits and you can run them without paste in an emergency but you'll drop cap like nobody's business. People use this double rep in leui of plates to keep their ships agile. I prefer two reppers, one ancillary and a damage control. So long as you keep your armor HP low and resistances up, your reppers will be more effectives. You will have to micromanage your reppers in a fight-- that's a disadvantage as well.
I'm new to eve ganking and I enjoy this idea of WH ganking, as I'm searching around it seems most of the data sites I'm finding have NPCs on them it seems like I'd have trouble ganking if we're both attacked but at the same time I don't want to touch the site so it's not sus. Any ideas would be great, thanks.
this player is teaching the way to do it BUT also there killing off the new starters for the hell of it..its really a game of how long can you survive

hi mate just a question ... those kills, don't they push your security status into minus numbers ? how do you keep your status in plus ? thanks (btw interesting video and commentary)

don't align to sun even when if you are cloaky. align to a planet with moons on it so it takes longer for people to find you. you only warp to sun when you want to fight something.
Loved this video, great job Negark. Was wondering how viable is this still? I just recently came back to the game and got myself an astero. What rigs do you recommend?
How was that first target not able to warp away? I get that he warp scrambles him but the target hade 2 warp core stabs equipped so he should have been able to warp away.
A lot of ratting drakes don't apply damage well because the pilots go for heavy duty tanks to deal with sleepers. Also a lot of us fly gecko's so the drake would have an overwhelmed passive tank, a lot of neut pressure, and it wouldn't be applying much in the way of damage. It would likely die but it would take a bit.
Wrong. This is a gank, and for some reason people that play eve are the only ones who don't get that... play any other MMO. A Gank is engaging in pvp with an unwilling participant, sort of like rape. Weather its a gang of ships jumping on a ratter, or a solo stratios killing exploration/p.i. ships it is a gank, as the other ship was unaware and got caught. A common definition would be "GANK (in a video game) use underhand means to defeat or kill (a less experienced opponent)." A good example is in Moba's as well, if someone roams or the jungler comes out and kills an unsuspecting player who was trying to clear a wave or back then they got "ganked". Get learnt, stay woke.
@@jeremyspanski2957 lol you just wrote a book about ganking, but yet you did not explain anything. Ganking is not about experienced, it about kill same ppl over and over and over and over.
@@MegaWolfch you just made possibly the stupidest comment. The same people over and over? So you have to know your ganker before its a gank? Please refrain from making stupid comments Thanks.
@@jeremyspanski2957 I laugh at how stupid you are, you think this video shows the real source ganks, today's kids put everything in one piece. YOU DID PLAY true pvp games to know what is gank.
Agreed. Ganking in EVE is the art of destroying a ship in a NONE PVP area, IE highsec. This is just a normal kill. EVE is based around risk and reward. there are more rewards in low, null and wormhole space because it goes without saying that people are in that area looking to kill you. regardless what ship your in, everything but high sec is a PVP area.
Remember to remove the data/relic analyzers and non useful pvp mods when hunting, that mid slot makes a difference when in use instead of just being a place holder in a fight
Hi there, thanks for the video. I was wondering if you could tell me if the Astero has a good chance at fighting a stratios. Ive had a few opportunities at ganking them but i always wuss out. Cheers :)
Make same but in Eve echoes, my stratios have 5 mid slots, 4 warp scream and 1 Web, oponent must have more than 16 warp stability if he want run away 😁
@@ohgodhehasairpodsin7116 I rather the Anarchy but alot of gankers KM only have high sec kills then say dont get mad its part of ther game. Dont talk ish when you dont fly low or null to get a real fight

Xirtax basically the reason he did it was so that no one could see a wreck in that data site he also wouldn't run the datasite so that it attracts more people if that makes sense.
If you play carefully and prepared, you can't really be caught ? even without cloak. I never got caught in a t1 Explorer and I don't have cloak. I had some close calls, someone managed to shotgun his probes to my safe without me spotting them, warped to me, but I was prealigned to another safe and at microwarp speed he landed 100+ km off. I got caught once in an empty venture by a cloaked interdictor, (i was trying to retrieve a wreck's loot) but yeah I expected that. Last, when I did some ganking on my own, the only explorers I caught were people unaware of the dangers of pvp, not noticing my combat probes (even tho I'm bad at combat scanning, often takes me 2-3 scans, that's 30 seconds they could have spotted me !)
Here we- Here we- Here we go! Now he's finally here To post for you He's the first memer of the Negeek crew Put your hands together If you wanna fap And join along in Spreadsheet sim crap He's the memer of the bunch You know him well He's finally back In comment hell His c*ckonut gun It fires in squirts ....Okay I'll stop now
ganking is literally pvp in which the ganker has an incredibly unfair advantage like a battle-made ship that is also prepared striking an unsuspecting un armed freighter
This is why I stopped playing EVE. Along with it being boring, and that horrible skill learning system. Why would you want to be a dick? Why not pick up the honorable trade of keying cars instead?
