I recall this program on TV when I was a 4-year old. The opening and closing waltz was my first glimpse of Viennese Waltz. In 1964 I had seen a movie entitled, "The Cardinal", which had also featured a waltz scene at a ball in Vienna (the late Romy Schneider was in the Vienna scenes). They were dancing, of course, in rotary style. I never understood, when I was a 17-year old and was preparing for my deb ball, why our group wasn't taught this waltz style because it was now my preference. Fortunately, even though it was late in life, I had the chance to attend two balls in Vienna, and I had the time of my life!. I had prepared by taking private lessons specifically in Viennese style waltzing about a year and a half before taking the trip.

Yes, that's NBC's Don Pardo as the show's announcer. This version was seen on Mondays at 7:30pm(et) in the 1953-'54 season, just before John Cameron Swayze's "CAMEL NEWS CARAVAN".
Surprised that Johnny Ray did not excite me more with his songs. Kind of fell flat, iMO. But, this show brought back great nostalgia and it was so well done, especially for that time period. Thanks for posting!
