About Terranigma
Terranigma, a '95 SNES game by Quintet and Enix, was the third in the unofficial Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia trilogy. Kamui Fujiwara, the manga artist, had creative freedom in character design due to a different concept. He joined early in development but had limited time due to other projects. Most of his original sketches are lost, but he'd give Ark blue hair in a remake. The game aimed for an epic world of destruction and creation, with evolving environments based on player actions. The team drew inspiration from various sources, especially world travels. There's also manga art related to Terranigma.

Just a note: Apparently Fujiwara started drawing him like that when he designed a trading card for himself. In the same interview, he mentions that he would like Ark to have blue hair if there ever was a remake because he associates blue with Earth. He also says that blue was the “original color” for Ark’s hair, so maybe palette limitations do play a role in him ending up as a reddish blonde. But he doesn’t confirm it, at least not in this interview.

Oh that's so cool! Terranigma really managed to create it's own special feeling. Quintet did something magical with their games, be it this one or the others, really wish we could have seen more made by that team, who knows what the future holds... Will you make a video about Secret of Evermore someday? Despite being so close to Secret of Mana gameplay wise it's so very different in Atmosphere and Design, be it art or even the music.

Agreed! About Secret of Evermore; Great suggestion, I will put it on the list but it depends on how much art is available to supplement the vid. But I do plan to make some sort of RPG game Art box covers in the future, like old SNES box art so it will get a spot light.
