It's a classic server from a 2007 expansion, so of course Blizzard got servers from 2007 to give players the closest to the original experience.

Guys if been playing MMO's also for 15 years, and EVERY TIME an expantion releases, there are server issues, queue times whatever. Doesnt matter what MMO, every populair MMO had this, and YET! Everytime people think this time it will be different... Its like the definition of insanity

i was not prepared. i was too tired so i went to bed then when i woke up i realized that i still need 10 more mining skill to be able to mine in outland so now i am in fucking winterspring mining for 1 hour..

Honestly waiting an extra 5 minutes to form a group on a small server is infinitely better than waiting for queue times like this. I literally did not DC or lag one time all release

It's funny that everyone is hyping WoW Classic when it's just a "restart" from the beginning. Eventually it will reach a point where it will restart again because all the expansions will be out again. And after that it will eventually restart yet again. And again. And again... Nostalgia is a nice feeling.

The giant smile on your face when you loaded in in front of the portal brought back so many fond memories. I'm gonna give it a day or two for things to smooth out before I jump in and ruin my life once again lmao.

In EU it was smooth as much as it was possible. On Shazzrah we got instantly 8 layers at release time (3 more layers added in a minute up from 5). Got only 1 small spike 30m after, no disconnects, it was a miracle

You would imagine, that after 15 years, Blizzard might figure somethings out, but I guess not.

i remember the days on incendius when the ques were a solid 2-4 hour ques mid afternoon.

I think blizz did a relatively good job from the experience on my server, compared to OG launch for sure lol. I play sulfuras horde which is another high pop east coast server. I went into blasted lands around 545 with my group and the SECOND we crossed into blasted lands it was lag spiking and rubber banding. We got to the DP and it was INSANE! Lag was intense, but I only got 1 DC before entering Outland. There was a massive pile of people waiting for the quest to appear and as I was clicking him checking for quest one time it DC me. After a few min of waiting for the quest to appear, I closed wow deleted WTF, logged back in got the quest immediately, logged out restored WTF, logged back in lag was mostly gone and ran through the dark portal and was golden for the rest of the night. I had 2 other DCs when I tried to leave /4 after filling our dungeon group so I could actually read party chat, but that was it. My whole group was good until 4am with no other DCs. That was a massive improvement for me personally compared to BCs launch back in the day.

I'm playing FFXIV and I never got sent back to Limsa Lominsa for entering a new area on launch.

To be fair, vast majority of servers had INCREDIBLY SMOOTH launch, no issues, I was even able to actually do a quest 30m in and since then play normally. Crazy stuff

Myzreal was smooth. Maybe don’t play on the server all the streamers and their fanboys play on.

Asmon's 100000 viewers logging in at the same time to the same realm would crash literally any server hardware, no matter how much money Blizz throws at it. Somehow I find it not surprising that at 8:59 only Faerlina is down and not a single other realm crashed.

2021 and blizzard still does not have DDOS countering measures on their servers like in any other game in the world like for example in FFXIV.

Mankrik and the launch as a whole did outstanding. This was a "Classic experience" because people targeted Asmon's server. The making up stories whiners to go along with this video are hilarious. Everything went pretty smooth.

It was actually a very smooth launch imo, comparable to shadowlands. Lag, and the layered opening was a bit odd, but otherwise not too bad. No dcs, queues, 12 hours extended maintenance, everything went pretty smooth for me except the 300 horde camping the portal

EU launch experience was pretty smooth, atleast on Firemaw. Pretty happy with how everything went.

Im so glad I've stopped playing this game few months ago.

My experience, I log into my new main druid, get a party invite, get summoned directly to the ramparts stone, and fell off the rampart and almost died to a few 63 orcs. Then we proceed to the sloppiest ramparts run ever, followed by smooth sailing after that.
