I often listen to AXP through my headphones while walking around the house. Each time Johanan comes on, I literally run downstairs to the computer at breakneck speed to fast forward beyond his nonsense.
Worst part of the show - Matt was about to go into a rant “You believe in an ancient jewish zombie...” and the caller hangs up. I really would have liked to hear the rest of that rant. Such a good start.
As Duhhhrell Brooks would say, it is mind boggling that theists can readily see the absurdity of everybody else's religious beliefs, yet still cling to their own delusions based on the exact same evidence.
Yes, God led the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land, it only took 40 years to make a trip that should have only taken a couple of weeks. God works in mysterious ways!
It wasn't a 40 year journey from one place to another. The big guy up stairs cursed them to wander around in the wilderness for 40 years as a result of their unwillingness to adopt the land that god had set aside for them in the first place, because he is a fair and just god (or so I'm told.)
Johanan: “I don’t want to make everybody’s eyes glaze over, but..” Proceeds to make everybody’s eyes glaze over. He can’t help it. He does that every time he speaks.🤤
The idea that the delayed choice experiment shows that mind creates reality is pure foolishness. You can set up a machine to randomly take a measurement when nobody is present, and will get the same results, showing that consciousness does not collapse wave functions. What some tend to misunderstand is that 'observation' and 'measurement' in physics are not words for a human making a conscious observation or measurement, and instead refers to particles interacting and coming away from the event with physical information about what they interacted with. Every particle is an observer, can collapse a wave function, and can take a measurement. When a human runs the delayed choice experiment, his or her consciousness is not required, and the human does not directly observe the particle. You could shove animatronics up the ass of a corpse, and have it take the measurement. There would be no difference.
@@bikeshop2002 Allow me to rephrase. Particles do crazy things when they're not being observed _by humans_ . But to answer your question more directly, it's because there probably is no god to observe anything.
not to mention we can demonstrate that it actually exists. even if it didn't give us life, even if it was detrimental to us, it would make more sense to worship it
Johanan it's not the observation that collapses the wave function. It is the action of measuring itself. No observation needed. Also if your god was all knowing that would mean wave function could not even exist in the first place lol
Don't forget about what happened after the death of Jesus! "Tombs broke open and the Saints inside was resurrected and descended on Jerusalem." (Matthew 27:53)🤔🙀
What about Jesus instead of condemning slavery he condones it! (Luke 12:41-48)🤔 Correction on the gentleman statement $36, 000 virgins were taking it says in the Bible it was 32 and of course Yahweh got his share like he did from everything else from the spoils. 🙄
I feel bad for that last caller, John. I totally understand where he's coming from, growing up Muslim I was told that God had a "reward" (Read: compensation) for each pain and disability a person lives through. This mentality is in itself mentally disabling. I wish him the best in learning to accept his body and understand that he did not do anything to deserve it and still can live an equally good life with acceptance 😊
That first caller…..Fuhgettabout it….he may have denied being one but he’s a hardcore, god-bothering solipsist from where I’m sitting….. Caller John, well-meaning and polite, still epitomized cognitive dissonance. Caller Corey is not being honest with himself, and epitomizes the problems with willful ignorance and deep hypocrisy.
Corey... god told me to telll you to send me ten thousand dollars. I'm guessing you doesn't "believe" THAT, even though it's the SAME pretend god character YOU proclaims certainly exists... AND that YOU listen to and follow.
Religious caller, asking Matt: "Why can't we coexist?" How are we supposed to "coexist" when religious believers force their dogma down non-believers' throats? Is there such a thing as coexisting when I (as a woman) am denied essential health care and body autonomy because your religion insists I be FORCED to allow another human to use my body to remain alive? What does "coexist" mean when I am forced to accept what you insist is "God's will" yet you can't back that assertion up with evidence? How am I expected to coexist with someone who threatens me with burning for all eternity in a hell that is entirely imaginary?
Amazing that what the second caller was talking about back then actually won the Nobel prize in physics in 2022, he specifically mentioned Anton Zeilinger.
