The Atlanta Hawks Are Making a BLOCKBUSTER Trade! 

The issue is that DJ and trae are too small together. They have to trade one of them for an elite plater with size. They get bullied on D. I'm not a BI fan either

@HesiJimboSplash - No worries about being small. Who is really better than Murray & Trae & considered elite? We never see any guards using size to bully or by posting up & scoring on Trae & DJ. Not many starting backcourts out score them. On the regular. We do see too many weak zones, instead of man to man. With lazy, (unnecessary switching on picks or screens not set by guards). Instead of not easily allowing mismatches with certain teams. That is the fault of poor coaching. We just saw Murray beat the Celtics twice right before the play in. The Hawks gave the Celtics a battle even without Trae. The Pacers & Knicks Competed well in the playoffs With little guys like McConnell. Also Brunson-6'1, Hart-6'4, Divenchenzo-6'4, Annonoby,-6' 7. Conley is barely 6'0. These teams had better records & coaches. Pacers have 7 guys who scored double figures all season long. The Hawks have 8. Most teams have only 6. Balanced scoring among 9 or 10 players is hard to beat. Not trying to help other teams get better with our players. Hawks need to make some changes. Not by trading our BEST players & STAT LEADERS. Trae leads many of those guys in career points & assist. Cause he's that good. In 6 seasons, he already has most of the Hawks franchise records. Not many guys Trae's age already own multiple franchise records. Trading our best guys won't make us better it will make us worst. And it's not even necessary because the BEST talent this season are all FREE AGENTS. - Lebron, Derozan, PG, Klay, Harden, Westbrook. Guys like Oubre, Monk, Siakim, Toppin, Derrick Jones, PJ Tucker, D. Jordan, A. Drummond, J. McGhee. ALL good veterans. A few of these guys mixed with the right team. Will be more than enough to win the Finals. Our TEAM can be BETTER WITHOUT ANY TRADES. Just pick the right Free Agents. Delete from the bottom of the team up. Because with the 1st Pick, this is the 1 year they can really get the owners to spend more money to make them better. Only If it makes sense. Trading for random, unproven players & picks is impulse speculation & it doesn't make sense at this point.

Bro I feel you but I would rather build around 2 elite stars in Tray and Zion !!! I’m trading BI and picks and possibly shopping CJ because of Jordan Hawkins coming off the bench and I’m rotating him and Herb at the 2 !

Actually New Orleans easily wins this trade. They have no center Cap Herb a nice wing but I’ve seen Hunter have ten and 15 point qts and 30 point games while playing defense Herb ain’t NEVER DOING THAT. And Murray better than B.I. There's no Hawks fan that wouldn't consider this a great trade. Highly unlikely but great. Would probably be Dyson D instead of herb but then it wouldn't be so great.

@@Dave-nm8uf with no backup at wing; RR makes sense as well..though bigs should be the focus either now or offseason...wouldnt be upset with Sarr/RR at this point..Free agency/trade is what really needs to make sense, the pick won't dictate much of the impact.

He is the number one defense liability in the league. If he has a off night offensively there is no other aspect of his game that can make up for it.

@@raymond2009vclearly not watching Hawks. Trae’s not an elite defender by any means, but his defense got better last season, to a point he’s not as bad as what he was in the beginning of his career.

Still not good enough! He made Kobe white look like an allstar. Hes gotta go, DJ is a much better leader and inspires the rest of the team to be better, Trae just sux the life outta everyone with his weak ass attitude and weak ass defense. Hes a cupcake

@@chazgoat6939 every player has their strengths and weaknesses. Trae’s not a great defender,but he’s been working on it, and it shows. On the plus side, he is a crutch player who can score and feed his teammates. Considering Hawks not having too many players who can create their own shots, Trae would be a better option to build this team around. When we got DJ, he was supposed to be good enough in defense to cover Trae’s short coming. DJ is a great player, but his defense didn’t go so well. Many say his defensive skills were overstated. There are ton of good players that lacks defense but they succeed by putting good compatible players around them. (i.e. Luka, Brunson). Adding Sarr and perhaps BI can make this team better. Maybe not championship material better, but enough to convince its FO and owner to open up their wallets to adding another star player to the mix. I do think Jalen Johnson can really step up this season, and Sarr and Onkongwu can stretch the floor without crowding the paint. I also think Mo Gueye has some rebounding potential to help in the paint. Sarr, Okongwu, Jalen, BI, Sarr are all decent defenders. If we can add a big defensive back up center that can help against other strong centers this team would significantly improve. Sarr is not much of rebounder, but more of a blocker. Just like what we saw with Wemby, such blocker stops shot attempts in the paint and forces the ball out to perimeter. Players like BI, Jalen, Hunter can really shine as perimeter defenders. The fact that Sarr is fast enough to cover both is a big plus. Hawks, like Mavs, should keep an eye out for 3 and D players, who can catch and shoot.

Preach! Trae cant lead a team, he got alot of growing up to do before he can go to the next level. DJ proved his value in leading us while ISO-Trae was out...the whole team was better and chemistry was WAY better. Lets hope mgmt sees the Trae experiment is tapped out.
