The Ventures WERE the GOLD STANDARD--Sherlock! The Shadows were a close 2nd best! No one else except Dick Dale or Link Wray is in this surf rock music elite level.
the guitarist on the right, is the original lead guitarist from the '60's. Martin Cillia on the left, lead and rhythm has been with Jim now for years and writes all the new surf songs. Also the Bass player has been with them a long time as well...Peter Hood the original drummer hasn't been with them for awhile now as I believe he has a heart problem. Great band.. Seen them live a few times now and I play some of their big hits. Love it.
