Yeah, I mixed in the best way possible the few tracks that feature the Harkonnen theme in the OST. The movie actually contains more variations of that theme, but they haven't been released yet.
I see what you mean, but I think there's a bit too much industrial/synth in these tracks for them to really fit Lord of the Rings. A lot of them feel too modern, even for the more grungy, totalitarian regimes like Morgoth, Sauron and Saruman.
So very true! And I haven't seen anyone talk about this! Finally, you bring it up. This film so effectively made me _despise_ the Harkonnens and the Sardukar. Furthermore, I now know that the emperor is truly a dangerous, jealous man. And I know how much I crave to see him fall along with his pawns. The film accomplishes this crucial step of establishing the fire that leads to war so well. The fire of _hatred._ I was consumed by the wrath of bloodshed as I watched the cruelty of the Sardukar cut into the undying valor of the Atreides. When they, the Atreides, went forth and stood fast in the face of annihilation that was the moment when the fanaticism for good surged within me and the hatred for evil seethed. I would have charged with furious vengeance to meet death with them. And that is such an dangerous thing. And it is what Frank Herbert wrote all of this about, right?

@@pseudonymousbeing987 He presumed it would be dangerous, this was all the hype in the 1960s & even 1950s but he and his time overlooked that it could be a necessary thing. Stanley Kubrick on the other hand, show what happens when aggressively is completely cut out (to rehabilitate criminals) in Clockwork Orange, the young central character gets easily victimized by old hobos.
I'm sure Paul will join up with the Fremen to bring down House Harkonnen and bring peace to the Known Universe and there will be very minimal blood shed.
@@weldonwin Ah that's pretty cool. I was under the impression all the animals and plants featured in the series were essentially exported off from Earth and gene engineered in the millennia before the first book takes place.
@@andreproudian7032 Most are Earth animals, that were gene engineered yes, a few have simply mutated and evolved to adapt to new planets and there are a very few truly alien creatures like the Sandworms, but there is nothing intelligent so far as we know, with the only other sapient beings in the Duniverse so far being the surviving Thinking Machines that fled after the Butlerian Jihad and are currently hiding in the darkest depths of interstellar space.
