Thats the original sight the AUG was designed with. It has a x1,5 magnification with a ring instead of a crosshair. The ring is nicknamed the "doughnut of death" in the Austrian Military who use the Aug as their Service rifle. Also, the Aug is an assault rifle, not an lmg. The Aug HBAR is a normal AUG with a heavier longer barrel and a bipod.
@@dreww47 if you only switch it from lmg to ar, sure, with the additional mobility it would be op. Since the aug fires the same cartridge as the m4 or the acr, it would only be natural to adjust the damage as well. The ingame stats are just tailored to balance but it's just very far from reality. The HBAR variant would have worse mobility due to the heavier barrel. HBAR is short for Heavy Barrelled Automatic Rifle. Yet it fires a smaller cartridge than a lmg. You can put more rounds through it before it gets too hot, but other than that it's the same as a standard AUG. Since overheating isn't a thing in mw2, they should have just put the standard AUG in the AR category where it belongs. Also, no military, not even the Austrian uses the AUG as a lmg because a real LMG is putting out more damage and has better ammo capacity and can handle heat at least as good and mostly better.
@@WCHADWICK sure it does since it's beltfed and can be adjusted to a fire rate 1,5 times of what the aug is capable. The aug only has a 42 round mag while the saw fires as long as the belt is or until the barrel melts. No military, not even the Austrian, uses the hbar as an lmg because it just isn't one. In reality it's an ar with bad mobility. The point is, the game stats serve the game balance while curbing realism. In my opinion, they should have stuck to aug variants who are actually being used by militarys or other forces. That wouldbe the AUG and the AUG Para, a smg-variant using 9mm with a shorter barrel used by the Austrian police, New Zealand, Ireland and Australia.
Still funny how clueless the developers where in terms of weapon classification. The stats make no sense whatsoever. In real life, the AUG has way better mobility than all the other guns in the lmg category because even the HBAR variant is still an assault rifle. It just has a longer, heavier barrel with a bipod. The mw2 stats show the AUG with a much lower fire rate than the RPD while in reality the AUG has 700 rounds per minute and the RPD has 650 ronds per minute, so it's actually the opposite of what the devs put into the game.
It's a modular weapon system by design, so you can adapt it to the needs of the battlefield. They could put the AR, LMG, and SMG in the same game if they wanted, and they'd all belong
@@jmwturneruk there’s truth to that. I always struggle to kill quickly using the AUG without Stopping Power, especially silenced. The L86 is tricky without Stopping Power because the recoil gets outta control quickly
It's nuts to me that the Steyr Aug HBAR uses the same cartridge as the M4A1 and can slap this hard. Would have loved to see Infinity Ward include their factory issued 42 round magazine as the "Extended Magazine" option instead of a 45 round magazine, but that's just being pedantic. Love the video, Fort, looking forward to the next one (and the streams).
I once tested all the LMGs on split screen at point-blank range, firing at the same time to see which one would win. The AUG beat the rest easily. To test it further, I even tried again with the AUG aiming at the feet with all the other LMGs aiming at the head, and to my shock, the AUG still won. So yes, the AUG HBAR is the best LMG in MW2.
This thing was straight absurd, got my first and only no kill streak gun only nuke with it Felt like you could move quicker with it than other lmgs and it was almost like a best of both worlds hybrid between an lmg and an AR
the aug 2 shot potential across the map was insane, never actually used it back in the day, always thought the mobility was a big issue but you made it work, gg
i have an idea for a nuke challenge and i know it gonna be hard considering the circumstances of MW2 but why not try to get a pushing only nuke, in which you play fast and don’t stop and wait for people to push u or something, you can use any weapon, I recommend silenced ump45 (op, fast and undetectable in the mini map which gonna help a lot in this kindda challenge) hope u consider this since it’s something u never did as far as i can remember
my brother and i say mw2 is the best because every gun was for the most part viable. There werent ever metas that made the game good or bad. Almost every gun was op.
I know you got nukes with different lethals but I would like to see a nuke where you use multiple different lethals. For example use one man army and switch between grenades, claymores, throwing knives, and so on :)
The worst feeling is dying when your trying to hide to use your chopper or AC-130” felt that and it was satisfying watching the second clip with the iron sights you were slaying on scrapyard and then got randomly fragged😂 10:18
if im not mistaken the AUG and RPD share the exact same stats besides firerate the tradeoff seems to be ammuniton on the RPD's end and slower more accurate shots on the AUG's
Wild upload time for me here in Europe bro but gotta watch my fav RU-vid shit straight away🤟🏼🤷🏼♂️ thanks fam for keeping my childhood alive with those vids. Makes my day on erry upload fr
The difference between the RPD and the AUG was that I cussed out people who used the RPD cause it was so damn good and easy to use, but I didn't mind dying to AUG users.XD
