Lana is waaay ahead of our time when she emerged from the ground. Her lyrics are very controversial and people are not ready for dark tone and theme back then. She craved her own way and paved it for some others (i don't want to named it but you guess it right), had sung many soundtracks for movies and I can't be more proud of her. Beside that, she is an old soul, very soft spoken person and i can't imagine what will happen to me when Lana stops making arts.

you should watch a video of her best vocals but in recent years! also, i don’t think the problem is people having rich parents or connecting through their parents, it’s about being honest about it. bc you’re right, some people are just born to rich families but it’s in authentic to not be honest about that. so think that’s more of that actual problem people have with that.
It’s still beyond incredible to me that born to die is one of only 3 albums by females to be in the billboard 200 for over 300 weeks. Like she is not an artist that gets radio play or heavily media coverage but still has managed to get such an achievement. It’s almost unbelievable but it really shows just how great of an artist she really is, she needs help from no one! Amazing

i remember the Nirvana performance your talking about, they where in London and MTV wanted Kurt to use a track instead of just live vocals so he just opened his mouth up and down during the song and the band fake played their instruments. Lana has openly talked about this older teacher from her boarding school in interviews and through her music. Honestly, it’s a whole rabbit whole that one has to investigate themselves
okay a few things 1. Rob never paid to kickstart anything. She has debunked that and even said recently in an interview that she was in 25k debt with her credit cards and that's the first thing she paid off with her first paycheck. She lived in a trailer park and if you see pictures, she had nothing since her parents sent her away at 16. 2. She is absolutely authentic. I have followed her and her work for years. She has grown up so much but she always narrated her life or the life of her idols in a very vintage cinematic way. In her music and other social media documentation, it is evident that she is discussing things and referencing works that she absolutely loves and admires. Some examples are Hollywood legends, old cinematography, classic literature and poetry, cars, and flowers among many others. 3. She is still with the same management and they are super close. Ben has admitted that Lana gives them a hard time because she likes to do things her own way. She never does normal album promos, no proper album covers, and most of her music videos are literally iPhone clips she either took herself or her sister Chuck has recorded. But the deal is that she has always had creative freedom which oftentimes is obscure and unpredictable but that's Lana. 4. She deleted her previous projects not just because of the stage name they were under, but she has admitted that she is indeed embarrassed by most of it because it was super early in her career. She says that about her unreleased tracks as well and begged many times for people to not listen to them when they get leaked (her laptop was stolen in 2014 with many demos and unreleased songs hitting the internet, someone hacked her again around 2016 and someone just stole her phone and drive from her car a few weeks ago. Lana again begged us not to listen to the leaks of any tracks since her album was on it, or read the manuscript for her upcoming poetry book which she has deleted and is currently starting to write over). Many of her previous albums have been leaked in the past compelling her to change things before the release or just beg people not to listen to any of it. People have also broken into her residence multiple times as well as attacked her at concerts (you can google all that). There is clearly a huge issue of privacy as Lana is known to have a crazy fan base with obsessive fans. 5. The whole teacher who groomed her thing, well has never been explicitly said anywhere. Lana was introduced to Nabokov's work by a teacher who told her about Lolita, a literary masterpiece yet, it entails themes of pedophilia, etc. She also has a song called boarding school in which she discusses having sexual relations with teachers. Since most of her work is autobiographical, it is unclear if the song is inspired by the novel Lolita or if it's reflective of Lana's experience at boarding school. 6. In 2012, she maintained a bit more of a persona but that can solely be attributed to her style at the time which was heavily influenced by Priscilla Presley. She still loves Prescilla but she has grown up, her style has evolved and her sound has changed to be more personal and less old Hollywood-influenced. Many have perceived that as Lana dropping her famous persona but I believe from the evolution I have witnessed as a fan throughout the years that is just Lana maturing and changing as a person rather than a persona thing. Sorry for the long essay, I have been in the fanbase for ages and have been here for most of the evolution of Lana so I thought I could share my insight.

Lana took a while to get used to performing and with crowds and absolutely nothing is wrong with that. I love Imagine Dragons and Rihanna, but there were performances I thought that were not very good on SNL from them on there so seriously people are just haters . Everyone has off nights too.
