I listened to this purely by accident. I had a Christian video on whilst preparing dinner and was on auto play so this ended up getting played. I recall after about 20 mins in, just thinking how eloquent the writing was and even more the way it was so beautifully making me yearn to go deeper within Gods word…40mins in and I realise the author did not sound like a lot of these modern preachers, whom, some of which, I must confess make me me a little weary in spirit. However, this audio reading was so refreshing to my spirit, I looked to the internet for the author and stumbled across an old photograph of him and read a brief biographical account of his life. Truly, a life lived for God, the love of Christ abounding in him and through his published works as well as his tireless evangelism that led him to different parts of the world - winning souls for God, a man who has gone on to glory to be with our Lord and Saviour, great is his reward in heaven! I am so overjoyed to find that this channel has many audio books on solid preachers of a bygone era. Although I do believe this generation needs some of the modern preachers that are about I just feel so compelled and encouraged to read my actual physical bible more rather than just google bible versus on any old device - when I listen or read preachings from preachers from the past. Thank you 🙏 God bless this channel. Subscribed!
I think it is spiritually apropos that this work re-emerged at this point in our collective and final days of history. As we urgently prepare for the return of Jesus the Christ, material like this helps soften the hearts and prepares room for the Spirit
Beautiful story. Ever heard of J. Vernon McGee? He’s been gone a while but there are plenty of his sermons here on YT. He used to be on the radio. Thru the Bible, J. Vernon McGee. Pray for me, this fear of being double minded has been scary, and the fear of being unredeemable has continually been a far worse fear... But I reckon the fear of being hated as was Essau... That to me would be unbearable. To think of Eternity without Christ is horrific. Pray for my Wife and family as well, for it seems when I draw nigh unto Jesus, is when it seems the folks I love most are used against me in a stronger way. As though got from every angle. This man is sorely mistaken about the apostles gathering on Sunday for the weekly Sabbath. The only day they met on Sunday for a Sabbath service was Pentecost. Previously known as the feast of weeks or first fruits. The very day the NT church was started. For an in depth study on who changed the day. Read the Catholics confession in their article Romes challenge to Protestants why keep thou the Sunday. And read revelation 14:12. No man can make a day holy only God can do that. And no man can change God's word read revelation 22:18-19 to see the consequences of thinking they can. And finally read Daniel 7:25. Which clearly tells you deceived people will think they can do it

It’s always been strange to me that there are people who will put what they believe some early church members believed over what the word of God, the Holy Scriptures, clearly say. Look at the horrible, and even heretical (Galatians)beliefs that Churches were teaching while the Apostles were still living..and you are willing to trust in what churches or individuals Christians taught after they were dead? The wise Christians, like those in Berea, wouldn’t even believe Paul without comparing his words against scripture daily! Weigh everything you believe against the God-Breathed scriptures. Never against the claims and beliefs of men. If the mistakes that Paul points out in his letters to the churches aren’t enough to prove to you that you should trust scripture over individual church teachings, then look at Christ’s letters to the 7 churches in Revelation. Stop trusting the authority of men and start believing the sovereign word of God. Your very soul depends on it.
Claims of divinely revealed knowledge are always such a stretch. If God wants us to know of its existence and message for humanity it has failed miserably. No one is on the same page.
Are you sure that no one is on the same page? Even though there are some fakes, I think you would be surprised at how many genuine, unified believers in the word of God there are. The thing is, the Bible never changes. It's the same, consistent, and true.
@jeremiahzeiset which version as there are many? And the number of denominations (many in conflict over the essentials) doesn't speak well of this supposed unified message.
@@williamcharles2117 Look, if anything is truly valuable, there will be imitations (think of all the jewelry knockoffs, for example). No one imitates worthless things, only valuable things. With so many false denominations, and there are some, that only highlights the fact that there is a genuine that is being imitated. But within the genuine, there is wonderful love and unity in the truth. I wish you could experience it.
First understand that the English version of the new testament is inaccurate to the original Greek language and that the Old testament original Hebrew cannot be translated into English .Hello?
I have never heard of a language that can't be translated into other languages. What is your basis for saying that Hebrew can't be translated into English? I understand that there are nuances to a language that can be hard to translate, but still, generally there is some equivalent words or phrases that bring out the same meaning into any language.
It's not authentic. The problem, as I am always stating to my own subs, is the apologists largely give an opinion based on the Gospels which we have no idea who wrote them. And they were written well after Yeshua's death. That negates all the Lee Strobel interviewees, the Craigs, the McDowells and everyone else who keeps debating proof that isn't there. You can't use the bible to prove the bible. That basic premise is a fallacy that any grad student would know but these doctrorates in the apologist world simply ignore. You take away this fallacy and the apologist has nothing to stand on. Cheers, DCF
You're forgetting that the Bible is not one book. It's actually 66 separate documents from over 1,400 years. Those documents have been compiled into one book, but it's really a comparison of documents. Look at all 66 documents and see if they cross reference. Look at other sources as well if you wish, but you have to look at the sources which includes these documents. To disregard these documents in your search for the truth would be to ignore the evidence.
DCF, i wonder What do you believe happens when you die? And how did the amazing things around us come to be? Consider the irredicible complexities of life in general- no way an organism can reproduce without everything working at the cellular level, plus you need a male & female at the exact same development- no way that happems by accident. Either the Bible is true or not and we all are free to choose what we believe, even if many are wrong.
Saturday Sabbath has nothing to do with the Jews. It was a day given by God right from creation in Genesis chapter 2. @@maryojodeh4391 Remember the works the Jesus Christ did on the Shabbat (Sabbath). Remember what is written in Matthew 12:1-8. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the law. The cross of Jesus Christ is connected to the 10 commandments, and the two greatest commandments that Jesus Christ speaks of in Mark 12:29-31. The greatest commandment and the first half of the 10 commandments deal with the vertical, love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all you soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength, this is the vertical command between us and our Heavenly Father, this is where we learn what love is in all it's fulness objectively, the second half of the 10 commandments are connected to the second great commandment, love your neighbor as yourself. This is the horizontal command that we take the love we learn from the first command (the vertical) and share it with our neighbors (the horizontal). The keeping of these two commandments (Mark 12:29-31) leads us to the ultimate love of our Heavenly Father which is found in the cross of Jesus Christ and the price He alone paid for the sins of the world. Actually, the Bible is not one book, but a compilation of 66 historical documents and letters, written over a period of about 1500 years. But those 66 documents are not the only ones that exist confirming the truth. And if you don't trust historical documents, what do you trust?
@@jeremiahzeiset @Jeremiah Zeiset Bible is not a historical document. What are you talking about? Most of todays scholars agree that the entire bible is corrupted, forged, contradictory, full of errors, genocide and other evil stuff and we do not even know who wrote it except a few books from the NT. How do historians know that the bible is not written by whom the church claims to be? Well today they have reliable equipment to tell you exactly when something has been written. If someone today reads Shakespeare he will know it is not from the last century for sure. There are archeological findings. Everybody knows except the people who gather in church that Paul wrote only 6 of his 13 letters. The evidence is overwhelming. After all who can trust a book that says kill all the infants on more than one occasion or having a prophet call upon god who sent two bears that killed 42 small children and that's just the beginning. There are deal-breaking unfulfilled prophesies and contradictions that is against all logic. I dont think you ever even read the whole bible
Stephen was made a deacon after Jesus ascended, and the apostle Paul did not yet believe at that point. It wasn't until after that time that Paul heard the voice from heaven on the road to Damascus, but nowhere does scripture say that Paul saw Jesus after the resurrection.

Son of God The Son of God is not the second person in the blessed Trinity as Christendom contends, but the ONE GOD (who was only Spirit) assuming “human flesh” for the work of redemption. If we seek the truth from the Word of God, the Old Testament is truly “monotheistic” in its entirety. Moses, the author of the Pentateuch is said by scholars to be founder of monotheism in Israel. The idea of the Trinity always must be read back into the Old Testament. The prophets who predicted the coming of a Saviour and a redeemer, always declared that it would be God who would make His appearance for His redemptive work (Psa. 50:3; Isa. 35:4; 59:16; 52:10; Micah 5:2). It is the Prophet Isaiah that goes further and predicts that when God did make His appearance in the flesh, it would be in a miraculous fashion by a “virgin birth” (Isa. 7:14) and that “her child born, her son given, would be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6). We believe that the New Testament writers, being first Israelites and then Spirit-filled, concurred fully with the message of the prophets (Eph. 2:20). Therefore, St. John did not introduce the second person in his prologue to his Gospel account. However, St. John lets us know that the Word in the beginning was “God” (St. John 1:1), and that Word (God-Spirit) was made flesh (St. John 1:14) and tabernacled with men. He writes in his epistle that “the Word which was from the beginning had taken on corporeality and had “been seen, heard and handle” (I John 1:1-2). The prophets showed that the impossibility of the Almighty in finding a suitable Redeemer (Isa. 59:16-20; 63:5) caused Him to take on the role Himself. Because those in need of redemption were children of “flesh and blood” God assumed “part of the same” for the work of redemption (Heb. 2:14-17). The Redeemer had to be a “kinsman”, so our God became one with mankind through the incarnation; and since redemption’s price was that of the “precious blood”, He had to partake of flesh and blood. The Virgin birth made it possible for our God to assume human flesh and a blood stream not contaminated by “Adam depravity”, thereby making it capable and suitable for redemption (Heb. 9:12-14; 10:19; Acts 20:28). All scriptures are from the KJV Bible
He, the narrator, started out good, being respectful, but at 14:40 he starts the messing up, making just a dumb claim, one that a 10 year old can easily refute, violating the first and second Commandments, hence proving this narrative to be untruth, and I stopped listening.
First time listening.. .chapter 7 is incorrect, the Apostles never changed the Holy Day....they would meet to break bread but that does not make it a Holy Day.... in Chapter 6 he mentioned Christ in the tomb on Wednesday night to Saturday... again, another error, he was on the cross and died on the cross on a Friday - PREPARATION day as the Sabbath (Saturday) drew near and so the women could not embalm his body until after, that is when Mary went to the tomb searching for him and found he was risen and told the others and they came running. 25 years of studying and we miss these important factors???
