The day of my honour band tour, first day we arrived early at the last school of the day. We got bored until the drums and tenor saxes started playing this whole song together, and little by little, and we all joined in to play this song. Our band teacher was at the office telling that we’re ready when she heard the music. She came in to see all of us playing and she was shocked.. The next day we always practiced like this before each school concert. On our second school of the day one student wanted us to play this song again so we decided to play without our band teacher conducting. It was amazing! So then on our third school(last school) we decided to play it again without our band teacher and it rocked! I asked my band teacher if it was the first time honour band had done it without the conductor, and she said yes! :D I got so excited for my band and I wanted to join next year too! I hope this habit turns into a tradition of our performances! EDIT: We had our gateway theatre concert and we played it together for the last time backstage 😢

Qween Tea actually if you listen to he real thing from the movie, french horns have even more of the melody. I’m a frenchie too and our band teacher is retiring this year so i want to play this so bad as the ending number bc if you listen the the original it sounds a million times cooler
We’re playing this song for our last concert coming up in May and we only have 4 weeks after spring break to go through all our songs especially this one. Ima be honest I absolutely hate because I can’t seem to get those Eighth notes in yet but it sounds amazing honestly I just hate it, I play clarinet btw. But as I’m practicing at home I’m starting to like it little by little so yeah, just wanted to share this lol
We play this for our spring concert this year which is May 11th, but our band sucks tbhhhhh and idk if we're actually going to be able to play it :,)))
The flute part is so much fun but hard to keep up with. I love it when in my band, the louder instruments cut out and you can hear the flutes. The whole piece in general is amazing together though! I hope we play this for my concert!
I play clarinet and I first played in the higher register above C in this song in 5th grade, it was so difficult, but now, almost 7 years later, I look back and it is so easy! It's cool to look back at your old difficult songs

@Xander Johnson Lol that makes sense. Most of the time the woodwinds have to play at ff to match the brass if even if they are playing at a lower dynamic in my band

I remember I played this in my last band concert in may of this year and I would hear it in my mind everytime because of how epic the song is and also I was flute so you know how torturous it was playing it but it sounded awesome

I am in 8th grade now, and am playing this tomorrow night for my spring band concert, and we are also playing “Hooked on A Feeling” by Blue Swede, and we are doinga rick roll, first we are playing a song called “Voodoo Dance”, and then the drum set is gonna do the opening of “Never gonna give you up”, and two of the percussionist, who are actually vocalist for the state junior high honor band are gonna be singing the song
Doing this in our 6th grade band, I'm playing clarinet 1 I believe and it's pretty easy but measures 35-38 gets me it's hard to get from A to high C, any tips?
