The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Iceberg, Explained 

lol i didn't expect my nick fury patch comparison to show up! This was a very entertaining video, so I will leave some curiosities that I have noticed as a fan, mostly related to the yostverse: -although in the Marvel wiki and even Wikipedia the Emh universe and several other Marvel animated properties are recognized as "earth 8096", this has not yet been confirmed and if I'm not mistaken it was named by the wiki. What is certain is that those projects were planned to be connected and constantly referenced, but they also have several continuity errors. Joshua fine has said that it is left to the interpretation of each one how the continuity of the universe would be -In Spectacular spiderman there are very few references to the main Marvel, and one of them is the vault, a prison for Marvel supervillains, but this version of the vault is very different from that of Avengers earths migthy's heroes, which makes it quite difficult to connect the series -If we were to follow the continuity of earth 8096, there would be a couple of characters that technically appeared more than heroes like iron man or captain america. While this includes great fighters like Thor, Hulk, and Wolverine, it also includes supporting characters and enemies of Thor, even ones with supporting roles like Valkyrie. Deeper, a character with 3 appearances is professor thorton, who along with weapon x have a cameo in Emh, which is quite surprising. I mean, Nick Fury has fewer appearances than PROFESSOR THORTON! who is that guy? -Something that surprises me that it hasn't been brought up is that in season two, Maria hill mentions a superhuman registration act, which is commonly recognized as being what caused the civil war in the marvel universe. Another little mentioned topic regarding the civil war in this universe is that in wolverine and the X-men a new version of the villain nitro appears who is a mutant, and that in the comics he caused a massacre, which led to the creation of the aforementioned superhuman registration act, and is also known for killing Captain Marvel, but that's beating around the bush. I Enjoy the video a lot and I hope I can help contribute to the iceberg

Fun fact: EMH has it's own earth number Earth-8096, and it canonically shares the same universe as Wolverine and the X-men, and the tv movie Hulk vs.

One of my theories is that Cap is in fact the one responsible for ruining Kang’s timeline. Kang specifically says that he traced the origin of the problem to Captain America. Now, while Cap does exist outside his original time he didn’t time travel. He just waited it out while on ice. This alone shouldn’t affect the timeline at all, however Cap does interact with something that might have. The Cosmic Cube. During the episode where hydra and AIM fought each other over the cube, iron man scans the ship it’s on and shorts out his suit. This alone shows that the cube is powerful. AIM created an item they believe could rewrite reality itself. At the end of the fight Cap and Struker race for the cube and both appear to touch it at the same time, but nothing happens. Struker and the Avengers simply believe that the cube didn’t work. At the very end of the episode the team asked Cap if he could change the world, how would he do it. Cap being modest says that taking down hydra once and for all was enough for him. But he’s lying. Cap has one regret that he wished he could fix. Bucky dying, and the very last scene is the rocket explosion that killed Bucky. However if you watch close enough you see that there is a blue flash during the explosion. Then boom Bucky survives, and becomes the winter soldier. But Kang has traced the time anomaly to that moment. Cap inadvertently disrupted the timeline saving Bucky when he grabbed the cube. Kang was right about it being Cap’s fault the whole time.

I don't believe Doom was a Skrull. If only because the episode where he discovers the secret invasion before it happened shows he is competent enought to not be replaced.

EMH was a gift to humanity,that will always be remembered

Doom supplying Stark with the"skrull detector" chip wasn't so much "outsourcing" as Doom considering the fight beneath him,if others could get it done.The real ommition was Doom's non-appearance in the fight against Galactus,if not along side EMH ,then trying to steal the power cosmic.

18:13 When Mar-Vell is trying to get the Supreme Intelligence to spare the Avengers in Live Kree or Die, he says that Wasp’s “genetics were modified though exposure to an unknown particle.” I’d say that this likely rules her out as being a mutant, but I’d also say that it’s *highly* unlikely Hank gave the powers to her on purpose. After all, prior to joining the Avengers, Hank mainly uses his suit and size-changing tech to advance his scientific research. He shrinks his lab, communicates with ants, and studies them. He resorts to combat only if need be, like when Claue storms his lab. So, pacifist that he is, why would he give Wasp stinger blasts? He wouldn’t. My best guess is that she got her powers - in true comic book fashion - in an experiment gone wrong. Maybe Hank was working on something and Janet walked in at the wrong time, or she was helping him, or something. I simply find it much easier to believe than Hank intentionally giving her combat-oriented powers.

Other thing that not many people know are the references to the DCAU. The fight with the Masters of Evil, the way Iron Man defeated the Purple Man, Captain America going to the barber shop with Nick Fury and the final battle against Galactus share some big similarities to some episodes of JL/JLU

4:17 Speaking if She-Hulk, she’s canon to EMH, or at least the EMH comics, where MODOC finds a way to switch Hawkeye and Iron Man’s minds, and planned to do the same to himself and more powerful superheroes, including She-Hulk (and he had a creepy expression when he said so)

Skrulls not getting the drop on Doom like that, no chance

16:02 A remnant of that idea still exists in AA. In the episode that focused on Molecule Man, Hawkeye has a flashback but it's the episode from EMH. This possibly makes AA an alternate timeline to EMH.

15:15 Yeah, I honestly don't think a Skrull was disguised as Doom. Mostly because of the ending of the first episode in season 2, where Doom figured out The Invisible Woman was replaced by a Skrull. Plus, Earth's Mightest Heroes always respects the comic book adaption of the characters.

Cool that you mentioned the comics. Some of them actually solve mini-cliffhangers the show set-up (like the fate of Karnilla, Grey Gargoyle, and I think Ravonna) and it feels like the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver issue was meant to be an episode of season 3.

I think it'd be neat if Wasp denied being a mutant to Magneto out of some kind of internalized mutant-phobia, of the kind shown by Liz Allen from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. They could definitely do something cool with that thread, especially if season 3 was going to feature the X-Men in a major way.

I personally really like the idea of the Wasp being a mutant. I find the concept to be an interesting and fun aspect to her character and besides, since in EMH we didn't got to have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver join the team during the first two seasons, I like the idea of the Wasp as the first mutant Avenger. One thing about the Avengers in the comic books is that, for them to be the biggest superhero team which rooster continually changes to add heroes of all places and avenues in the Marvel universe, the truth is that in retrospective, they never had the strongest representation of mutants among their ranks (by this I am not saying there hasn't been; yes, there's been mutants before, true. Heck, even Beast has been an Avenger, but let's be honest, the impact of these has never been as significant as it should be). Thus, at least in my eyes, having the Wasp, a founding member and chairman of the team, be a mutant is a great way to reassert the team's representation of mutants. Also, considering the public opinion of mutants in the Yostverse based on the events of Wolverine and the X-Men, the Wasp could be a very important advocate for mutant rights that could seriously turn around the social climate. Hell, I even get chills right now just thinking of a hypothetical scene of the Wasp coming out publicly as a mutant, maybe to show support of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver joining the team. "You got a problem with mutants joining the team? Breaking news, everybody. I, a founding member of the Avengers, am a mutant. None ever had a problem with me before, surely you ain't having one now, right?"

If you are looking for another series to make a videos on, you should make a video on Young Justice. Every scene has a timestamp, and the continuity is really good. It also has a comics series that directly ties in. It is also a series that a studio gave a revival to. One of the writers is Greg Weisman who also worked on Spectacular Spider-Man

I guess I assumed that, from writer's standpoint, Wasp gets different powers to create a greater array of powers on the team, and from a story standpoint, Pym just wasn't as interested in personal flight (also he could pilot flying ants no problem). In the context of the cartoon, Hank doesn't really want to engage the villains in fisticuffs, but Janet does, so it makes sense that he would outfit her with the powers necessary to defend herself and present a threat to the villains.

A small tidbit on AA originally being an EMH sequel: S1 E8 of AA there is a flashback of entirely new footage of The Avengers fighting Molecule Man and they have their EMH design and art style

I am still annoyed that they replaced the Keaton audio with Drake's. And even to this day, they refuse to allow Keaton to voice Spider-man. Do they think if they do they would have to pay Sony or something? Ridiculous.

Another thoughtful video about EMH!! I just finished rewatching this show again and I have got to say it'd be awesome to learn if Wasp was a mutant. She's already my favorite character it'd be great to see that drama play out between the Avengers and the Mutant Response Division if they even went that route. I also didn't know that Wasp's outfit was completely unique in this show! So awesome to learn! On Dr. Doom and the skull: I thought that he was a skrull until I watched your video and paid more attention to the episode... And you're right, Dr. Doom isn't a skrull, the tech he gives Tony works to reveal the skrull's true form on Capital Hill. But because we never see the skrull tamper with Tony's suit it's easy to assume that the virus came from Doom, but it didn't. To clear up this confusion it would've been nice to see Skrull Cap tamper with Tony's suit before the team split up. But that's just my thoughts. Thank You for such great videos!! PSA Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spiderman are likely a part of Yostverse because, if I recall correctly, in an episode of Avengers Assemble(Molecule Kid one) they run a flashback which shows the avengers dealing with Molecule Man but they looked like their EMH variants instead of the Avengers Assemble ones. As for Ultimate Spiderman, it is linked with Avengers Assemble so indirectly it's also part of Yostverse

I still don't want a united yost verse unless they reveal that the timeline of W&Xmen is the one where Kang won and the avengers didn't form, and maybe also the hulk verses timeline

One thing about AA possibly being a sequel Is where in the episode molecule man in season 1 we see a flash back to when the avengers first fought him. The flash back is shown in EMH art style completely, it’s very obvious there, but there are errors.

I’m one episode of avengers assemble season one, where at the beginning where black widow and Hawkeye are chasing down a teen with a like a powerful wand or something, there is a scene that is using the emh animation style

I must say, I loved EMH but couldn't get through a single episode of AA. It just couldn't hold my interest. As for the Jan, she my favorite character, and she'll always remain my Wasp.

This show was the best depiction of the Avengers in any media including media I have seen that is not the comics. They went overboard in Avengers Assemble. AA wasn't the same as they wanted to go more with it was like in the movies. However, EMH was so so good. The characters, their design was so great. Just look at Cap. In AA, Cap looks like crap. However, EMH looks so so good. What works in the movies doesn't work in cartoons. EMH got the looks perfect like Zemo. Zemo looks so friggin good in EMH. This was the perfect cartoon. We really need 5 seasons of this. Start a petition and get it back. Kang, Doom, Zemo, Leader. All were great villains. Fucking brilliant show

On 'Skrull Doom': That episode was both one of the most exciting episodes, and one of the most disappointing, because it gave us a non-avengers Villain, and kind of promised we would see the Fantastic Four at some point (to reveal that Sue was a Skrull), but it never happened 😔 On Fury's Moving Eyepatch: I remember in the ads for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', that the posters messed up what eye Fury had his patch on, and Sam Jackson himself even used his favorite word to point out the mistake on twitter 😂 However, we later learn that that wasn't the real Fury, but a Skrull posing as him while he was off world. Could the wrong eyepatch on the poster have been a subtle hint that something was 'wrong' with Fury, I wonder? I loved the show because, as a Boomer fan going Way back, I see how they combined the best of stories decades old (Kree/Skrull War, Korvac), with more modern stories (Secret Invasion, and I think they pulled off S.I. better than the comics, by replacing an 'important' member of the group with a Skrull [Cap] and letting the audience know, and have us wonder how long it would take for the rest of the Avengers to notice (quite longer than I expected).

There was also some Easter eggs cause in one off the episodes that focused on antman and wasp there was a taxi driver reading a news paper with a Easter egg to punisher and man thing

I don’t really have much to say about the skrull Doom other than that was the connection that I had made at the time when I was younger. Although I don’t really remember when the virus would have been implanted and even than the detector was shown to be useless except for maybe finding skrulls that were still hidden.

I definitely thought the doom that gave Ironman the skrull detector was a skrull giving him the virus. Keep in mind, the skrulls don't even need to replace doom. Doom could have been somewhere else not necessarily captured

I do believe in the skrull Doom theory since the virus has little to no ways of getting into the chip unless that Victor was a skrull.

Haven't seen all episodes, but EMH is easily my favorite Avengers cartoon adaption. Even above the 60's episodes of Cap's cartoon that were using Silver Age Avengers' comic art. Though, I think if either the 90's X-Men/Spider-Man makers or Spiderman and his Amazing Friends makers had made one, I'd have prefered it.
