I've been raising chickens for years and it's been my experience that when they get viral infections, no matter what that is, they usually die. We tried many things when this happened to our (it was not the avian flu, just some random viral infection) in our flock. A few did die but most of the flock was fine. So far, this year we are okay. I hope they stay that way. Like you, I would not want to cull my whole flock.

Ya. Thanks Debbie. Our experience has been the same. If they get a virus, and have symptoms to the point that we notice, chances are that they will die.

And you would be a fool to cull your flock. They put "fear" into people, then when "normal" things happen like they have forever....people think it is what the TV is telling them. Yup, the black scrying mirror, the evil brainwashing tool that people call TV and phones and computers. Their weaponry can be used against them with a little research. They don't call it TV PROGRAM for nothing.

For the last 6 days I have tried everything available to treat her. She went from paralyzed to having her mobility back but unable to balance herself. No vet will look at her. How will I ever know what’s wrong and address the situation if any in the future with my other hens? At this point I don’t want anymore because there is no help when needed. It’s ludicrous!! I am glad you were able to help your other hens!!

Maybe I missed where you said exactly what they had. It looked and sounded like coryza. That is an upper respiratory infection, that makes them cough and sneeze, they makes their eyes and even face swell. They can heal (some don’t) but the flock is forever tainted. They can definitely live and it doesn’t affect eggs, and doesn’t transfer to humans. We have dealt with it recently. 😩
@lowjack6634
@lowjack6634 2 года назад
When you say tainted what exactly does that mean? I have just started with chickens recently so I have many questions thanks.
@overstandself9954
@overstandself9954 2 года назад
Yes coryza most def nwver goes away. Especially with the chicken that it starts with. My barred rock was the first to get sick when i started having chickens. I was devastated, it took about 22 chicks over 28 that I had from 3 hens. The 5 survived because they were older and strong than the others. This was 2019 dec. Fast foward to 2020 march the sickness moved to bigger chickens but just a few. Oh yes and other new chicks. 2021 same thing. I still have the same flock with the parent stock as well as the offspring. So Alll I can say is if it gets sick make a plan for it when it gets well. Because trying to heal cmthese chicks is so tiring. And did i forgot to say the barred rock that first got it has chicks and they got it 8 of 10 got it its horrible
@whittkatt
@whittkatt 2 года назад
@@lowjack6634 it means that even when (and if) they heal, the ones that had it, still carry it, and can become reinfected, and can give it to other chickens. The only way to completely eliminate it, is to cull the entire flock where one case was found, then totally clean, sanitize and disinfect the coop, run and henhouse, nest boxes… everything. If they free-ranged on your property, you would have to literally wait a few years OR, have your next flock not free range, or confine them to an area where the old flock never went…. And then start over with totally new chickens. This is why we chose to simply cull the sick ones, clean the coop and hen houses, and just carry on. Luckily, we seem to have a strong flock. They eat natural and organic feed, lots of probiotics, and super clean living conditions.I watch them very carefully. Only once every year or so, one will start acting “off”. At the very first sign, that chicken is isolated. If she becomes sick, she is culled. It has worked out for years. Not ideal, but better than the other option.

I know this is a two year old video, but two years ago, I lost a chicken what we suspect was the avian flu and because my chicken was already dead for more than two hours, they didn’t have me take it to Urbana, U of I. Two other chickens got sick but the vet gave us antibiotics and we were able to save them. Also, you want to remove any sick chicken from the flock anytime you find a sick chicken. Put them in a dog cage in your garage until they are once again healthy. Then you can reintroduce the chicken back into the flock.

@@wordswritteninred7171 there are different strains of avian flu. It’s ‘with us’ all the time, but this specific strain you hear about in the news is highly pathogenic. That’s what the whole hub-bub is about. The mass chicken farming can get hit hard. It’s spread mainly from waterfowl and raptors, so if you live near areas these birds frequent, those are the places with most risk. (Doesn’t mean you’re risk free). Those who survive the virus, have a stronger immune system. And pass it on to their young. And the virus becomes nothing. It’s been happening like that since the beginning of time. Now the government is exploiting it, to pass legislation, to take control of the food. And too many are helping them do just that! Ok now I'm just MAD. Pissed that they killed your Chickens for NOTHING when they could have had a test for the upper resp virus but they didn't so it's just KILL the Chickens?! WHAT!!! That's just like going off and killing a human for having something that they can't identify and then doing an... Crazy! What I have learned from this is that if you take your chickens in that look sick and if they have any issue with upper respiratory your screwed they will call in and tell you to drive down to... and of course KILL your chickens. What a waste of time raising the chickens for them to be so dumb and scared and just to kill them. All your hard work for them to just kill the chickens off so they can do there testing. Really this was a BIG EYE OPENER. Taught me Not to take my chickens into the vet and just go buy Antibiotics or use natures Antibiotics EO's when you see something that is not right. I am learning even more so now then ever to not trust our gov they SUCK! What if that was someones food meaning the eggs and they can't wait to raise another chick 5 months to get eggs or they just can't afford more cuz of inflation from Biden happy to kill off the middle class. Guess it's no different then Covid they wouldn't give Antibiotics that actually WORK for that either. Especially when you have upper respiratory covid. Learned that when I went to the hospital. Then they wouldn't give out what saved Trump from covid HDQ Lots of TURDS running our world right now. Instead they gave out Remdisiver and that drug killed over 50% of the ppl in the test trials that's why they couldn't give it out at the start of covid but someone got paid off. JUST like in this video the vet or someone is getting paid off to kill your animals then make you do all the running and tell you what to do and what to give them. I'm sorry this is NOT RIGHT at all. With how many birds, chickens, parrots they have killed this is not normal just like how we saw them kill off the elderly here in Michigan they let in Covid positive elderly into the nursing homes so everyone would catch it then let them die in the beds or in the hospitals. Talk about a DEAD CAMP they didn't even need to make CAMPS they made them Right there. Saw many of my friends relatives die in those death camps they call elderly homes. God for bid we try to save humans or animals with the things we know work. I'm telling ya this taught me all the lessons I need to know. My heart goes out to you as farmers. I LOVE FARMERS. As for the sin that is being commited at every level here in the world to humans and now animals, I hope GOD deals with them on a level that I can't even think of. GOD BLESS GOOD PPL and FARMERS. Sickness in animals is very important if you have a larger flock. Anytime a new chicken is introduced it should be in quarantine for two weeks. Any sick chicken should be removed, immediately, and placed in quarantine until the verdict is out. Today in 2022, avian flu is the worst it has ever been. If you don’t take precautions for your chickens, they may catch the disease and they are all gone. Keep your chickens enclosed and away from outside bird poop.

What has the medication they gave you? We lost a few birds a while back but I have them Denagard and that seemed to work great. I still have an occasional puffy eye so we put drops of Colloidal silver and usually it clears them is. There was a few we gave a shot to with Tylan 50. We just wanted to see what worked and what didn’t. We found the Denagard works great for all ages but the Tylan only worked for the older larger breed ones.

It IS frustrating. There are sooo many respiratory illnesses that have the same basic symptoms and some are viral (no antibiotic) and others bacterial (WHICH antibiotic will work?) and still others are fungal. What's really bad about a particularly infectious avian flu is that is is so hard to keep all the birds safe. Wildlife exists. They fly into our barns to eat scraps, they poop in our yards. Our animals are exposed. Perhaps a neighbor steps in poop from our sick chicken and carries it into their yard... or if they work at a hatchery or large commercial farm. Well, millions of birds have had to be culled. And if it does mutate and crosses over to humans more easily... well, we've all lived through enough of that.

There is nothing new Nader the sun. Birds getting the flu, has been happening my entire life. Now all of a sudden, they scream about it on the news, and majority of people act like it’s something new, and the end of life as we know it. Just what those in power want. So the population will scream for a solution. And those in power have exactly that! It’s a game as old as time. Been their m.o. from the beginning of history. And it works every time! Soon, we won’t have any rights left. And we will no longer have a say in anything. Then it will be too late. And I don’t blame the enemy. I blame the population for buying into the lies.

These respiratory diseases as in MG and MS are very common and no help is available. You will still have to kill the whole flock. If this was something dogs caught they would have a vaccine or cure within a year. This MG has been around for 100 years and still they have done nothing to help farmers.

Well that's a bummer because now your chickens are not antibiotic free. But, at least they aren't dead, and after a bit you can eat the eggs. I'd sanitize my place if I were you. That bug could be lerking in the ground and wood, waiting for spring to go active again. Sanitizing is an ugly job involving bleach water, moving and holding animals hostage, staying off ground areas for a few days, hosing it all down after 7 days, etc.. but, better than sick animals.

How much and how?
@richardbellsr2345
@richardbellsr2345 2 года назад
@@johnfontenot5015 the smaller bottles come with a dropper, but it is cheaper to buy big bottles, you can open their mouth and drop like 25 mlg to each bird or put it in their water if they are drinking on their own I would add more if you mix it with water to make sure they are getting a good dose, I had a turkey that would fall over when she tried to stand up and some chickens that looked like they were drunk when they tried to walk, this stuff snapped them out of it in a couple of hours. I also had a sick Turkey that took me a few weeks to bring back, she was bad, she would get these big sacks of snot that filled up under her eyes, I had to pop them with a hypodermic needle every morning and put a syringe without the needle over the hole I poked into the sack of snot and suck it out with a syringe with no needle, it didn't hurt her, or I should say she didn't act like it hurt, it seem to give her relief, as it relieved the pressure from under her eyes then I used the syringe without the needle to draw the snot out of her nose a few times a day. That one was a lot of work and I only had one that i had to do that too. But definitely the colloidal or sovereign silver has saved birds for me. I only had the one year like that out of 10 year's. The colloidal and sovereign silver is safe, I've used it on dogs, I know people who said it has saved their horses, my kids and I have taken it and knocked the flu out in a day. I get it from a health food store, also note that animals immune systems are a lot like ours, I have had dogs who respond within minutes using this stuff, others that it took a couple of days with doing a few other things, I have used this to cure parvovirus on more than 80 dogs, all my neighbors call me when their animals get sick, the parvo I have had between 70 to 80 percent success, however I tried doing an additional thing and have had 100 percent with an extra step. I told a vet about the colloidal and sovereign silver how I used it to beat parvovirus in a lot of dogs, his response was, it's great stuff isn't it. I had to wonder why vets don't reccomend it, and it dawned on me by law they can't, it isn't approved by the FDA for use in medical treatment. So they sell it as a dietary supplement to boost the immune system. If I told you what I was taking to cure my cancer you would think I was crazy, I don't know if it will but I can tell you I haven't felt this good in several years, a lot of people say they have cured their cancer using this, some haven't but it is believed they started to late, you can Google this, curing cancer with dog worming medication. I ordered the main ingredient that is supposed to be the cure in it's pure form called fenbendazole, the story of how this was discovered was an amazing one. They are doing studies on it now because people said they cured some of the most deadly cancers with it, people who were sent home to die. The world has many things we don't know about. A guy Joe Tippens brought this to light. Hard to find his long interviews because they are on RU-vid channels that belong to other people who interview him but there is news clips with him, just not as detailed as his interviews. The reason I bring this up is because there are a lot of things doctors and vets don't know or can't discuss due to laws, regulations and lack of knowledge. Both of my cancer doctors said they can't reccomend it, by law they can't my primary doctor said the same thing, I told her well I'm taking it, she looked it up and said drink lots of water. I have a strange story that happened with this but it was like a sign from God.
