Eating cabbage is incredibly healthy for our digestive system. It has enzymes in it that can ward off cancer, and if you prepare it properly, even cabbage haters can enjoy it.
About This Video Series:
I'm an IT guy with a love for "office pizza" trying to lose weight and get healthy one low carb bite at a time. Oh yeah, I'm married to Dot, an awesome low carb chef, so I have no excuse for not losing (and feel free to hold me to that!).
Please comment, ask questions, and/or lend support to those who need it. And thanks for watching.

Appreciate Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you tried - Taparton Shape Transforming Takeover (google it)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering a simple way to burn fat the easy way minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy finally got astronomical results with it.

Hey, Mr. Keto, you are a great looking "adult". You and Dot are so blessed to have each other. My favorite cabbage recipes is fried cabbage made with chopped bacon and my own addition of Lemon Pepper seasoning. Coincidentally had it last night! God bless.

I was 220 lbs. Ate anything and everything, was drinking 4 times a week. Then I only drank once a week. Stopped eating bad foods, started juicing. My BP before was high 145/135, cholesterol 280. After, my cholesterol went to 185. BP 125/82 around there. Went down to 180 lbs in 6 weeks. Lost close to 40 lbs. I also started jogging. Ate mostly veggies.

I would love to share something that I went through. They told me I had the same things they are telling you. Knock high fructose corn syrup out of your diet. Many processed foods say sugar up towards the beginning of their ingredients and people do not read on. They should. I knocked that out of my diet and suddenly lost 30 lbs and no more IBS. :)

Hi John, new viewer here. I binge watched Dot, and ended up with you! I can empathize with Dot, as I took care of my mother for a year prior to her passing, and it was extremely difficult. I reverted to putting myself last, but that was my choice, not her fault. I am glad that I spent the time with her. Please tell Dot that she is inspiring many of us by the sheer fact that she is evolving, keeping to a lifestyle, and moving forward, regardless of weight loss or not. Forget the final 50, please ask Dot to check in sometime, so we can be encouraged that she keeps her commitment to her health! NOT ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS! I lost 75lbs, gave up and gained back 60, never reaching goal. Her perserverence and your loyalty can't be beat. ...wish her luck, and hoping to see her check it soon!

I made a fried cabbage version that I will make again. I cut up an entire head of cabbage. Had asked my hub to get bacon to fry, but he didn't get so I made due with some avocado and coconut oil. I browned slices of kielbasa in that, then removed. Added garlic, then one large chopped yellow onion, 1 green pepper, added about half the amount of cabbage, one bay leaf, some loose thyme maybe 1/2 teaspoon of xylitol, maybe 1/4 cup of real apple cider vinegar and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirred, and added remaining cabbage and let simmer, stirring occassionally. Really excellent. My hubbie liked it too. Bay leaves help convert the fat, and white thyme helps increase white cells. Would have added some moringa powder when it cooled, but I couldn't wait to eat it. Being able to detect an odor from urine after eating asparagus is related to having a gene. Unfortunately, I have that one. I think cabbage is a bit bitter, but I like it anyway.

I love cabbage... I do have IBS and do have thryoid issues and do take my synthroid every day .. don't care if it is good or bad for me I love cabbage... and I love Brussels sprouts... there is sooo much in this life I cannot have so when it comes to things that will sit ok in my gut (does not cause gas or any intestinal issues with me think cause my IBS is not the run to the potty I go the other way so anything that helps me go is an excellent thing I very rarely have a gas issue) I also have a rare tummy condition and this sits very well with it and I can eat half a cabbage on my own at a sitting .. is it good for me? ... who cares ... I love it and never done me any harm ... I usually make it my supper and love to slice it and bake it in the oven, omg so excellent... I have to watch raw it will rip my guts apart and start me bleeding so only so much raw and that limits the amount of coleslaw I can eat, but cooked hell I can go to town!!! I love your videos.. I do hope when the wife comes back you will continue to do them anyway :)

The cabbage music :D :D :D I'll have to look into the beneficial aspect a bit more. My beloved also has IBS/D/Whatever ... so we're in this interesting phase of discovering what things cause flares, and what things don't. He is a cole-slaw conoisseur, to be certain. :) I'm pretty sure if I drank, at this point in keto-world, I'd be a REALLLLY cheap date, that or I'd overdo it, and make myself sick. Thusly, I just stick with being the designated chauffeur. :) Have a great week, Mr. and Mrs. Dot!!!

John here: yes, it's weird how some cole slaw is pretty horrible. And they add so much sugar in restaurants. Much better to make it low carb at home imho :) I have yet to do a scientific analysis (used loosely) on what causes flareups.

Fry bacon in a pan, then fry thin sliced cabbage in the bacon fat, then drizel some soy in and let the soy brown in hot the pan about 20 seconds and mix the cabbage up till the carmalized soy sticks to the cabbage, then dice the bacon up and mix it back in the the cabbage. It is easy delicious and accompanies any meat perfectly.

Just on a side note: As far as I'm informed, feel free to do further research on this, cabbage even eaten on a regular basis does not interfere with thyroid function. The often quoted study was done on people under extreme poverty conditions (in a war zone, if I remember correctly) who expressed symptoms after eating nothing BUT cabbage for a significant amount of time.

John here: greetings from across the pond! :) if you find you really can't stand it, no worries, but always good to retry things once in a while. (though I really hate okra and will probably never try it again, lol.)

Isn't cilantro the same way? There is some gene that makes it taste like soap.

Beth, you're the best. Thank you, we're doing well. We have a video releasing at 7:45 am EST tomorrow. Things have been a little rough with mom. She's living with us now and we had to do a lot of modifications (power chair, and other things). All is well though :)
