The awkward moment when giving Salam 😐

Sometimes we dont even greet peoples we know...is it wrong not to...is it a sin

Saying the Salam is easy but not getting a reply to the Salam is 10 times worse for me.

@@shephyjr4938..... not necessarily a sin but you miss immense rewards which can make the difference on your balance on Judgment Day !!!

وعن أبي أمامة صُدي بن عجلان الباهلي رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ “إن أولى الناس بالله من بدأهم بالسلام‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود بإسناد جيد‏) The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The person nearest to Allah is one who is the first to offer greeting." وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏ "‏والذي نفسي بيده، لا تدخلوا الجنة حتى تؤمنوا ولا تؤمنوا حتى تحابوا أولا أدلكم على شيء إذا فعلتموه تحاببتم‏؟‏ أفشوا السلام بينكم‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم ‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves." And I also wanted to say, remember it’s ok to have anxiety, and when it happens and you feel awkward after, remind yourself that’s it’s ok to feel this way, and that the important thing is the intention 🤗 take care 🙂

@@Jordan94774 Also me I thought that he said that, but he didn’t, he meant that the anxiety that comes to him in that moment when he don’t know does he start with the salam first or no, he meant The amount of anxiety from that moment is silly not the Hadith. Read it again if you don’t believe me

I’m in pakistan and live with Pakistanis. Many people don’t give Salam back. May Allah guide us.

They got no takwa and not knowledge themselves,,,pray without knowledge is like empty ,,so these times are many so in ummah that not follow this farz to go to knowledge himself

I say Salam and never look back or even hear or care if they respond...I just do my duty without any ego

To greet the older... I don't think this is established in the Sunnah of our Prophet peace be upon him or the Salaf. EDIT: One brother in this comment thread has showed us the proof in Bukhari 6234. So I take my words back. Islam does encourage the younger to greet the elder.

@@MohamedHassan-ni6un The burden of proof is not on me. You said that the younger should greet the older, so you have give some reference from the Quran or Hadith. But as far as my knowledge is concerned, I haven't read such a Hadith. May Allah increase my knowledge. EDIT: One brother in this comment thread has showed us the proof in Bukhari 6234. I am the same but i got used to it don't think too much of it and avoid looking at their eyes maybe their shirt or something near their face to make it easier
