Tom Don Jaime’s father was not from Spain, but rather from Manila (and Batangas) himself. Alfonso Zóbel (de Ayala) y Roxas was born in Manila in 1903 to Filipino parents of Spanish ancestry, Enrique Zóbel y de Ayala and Consuelo Roxas y de Ayala, who were first cousins. His father was a fourth cousin of the late president Manuel Acuña Roxas. But then again, I see your point.
