The Ibanez Prestige AZS2209H, though recently discontinued in the "H" version, is still very close to the current AZS Prestige models and shares most specifications. I've received requests to review this Tele-like Ibanez ever since I reviewed the Strat-like AZ2204N last year:

I've always liked the Ibanez AZ series guitars, usually great quality made guitars. This one looks good to me, even with that curved control plate. As always, your demos include excellent playing! 👍

I bought the blue version but was disappointed with the fretboard edges that were supposed to be "rounded" but compared to any other guitar I had, it was actually quite angular. Sounded good though and good fretwork. Thanks for the review

Interesting. I’ll be honest, I have no specific memory of the fret ends on this one, except that they were smooth and comfortable enough. However, I seem to recall the AZ2204n I reviewed last year had quite rounded fret ends. Both AZs had very nice fretwork overall. Thanks so much for watching.

@@leonardgriffieblues5845 wasn't talking about the fret ends...the fretboard edge was marketed as rounded, like it is now on many guitars..it was barely rounded at all.

From a Blues perspective, you really make these Ibanez Prestige models come alive. Nicely chosen warm vintage Blues tones used which are kind of hard to obtain on these models. I try and keep the treble reduced on my amp and use a warm sounding transparent overdrive and it all comes together.LOL. They are great instruments and i totally agree with you on every point. Very comfy but it seems Ibanez are fast deleting this series. Thank you for the fine video.

Thanks so much. The model is still in production, though not in that finish, so a slightly different model number. In fact, this year seems to be all different colors from the previous runs. There’s a black, a blue that’s a little different from the first blue, and a mint green, but the sunburst is gone. They must think they’ll get more mileage out of the line by changing up the finishes. Maybe the burst was the slowest seller? In any case I don’t think anything else has really changed. You prove we don't have to be very fast or technical players to be a soulful and great guitarist. Your video made buy the same guitar in sunburst and I absolutely love it. Kind regards from The Netherlands.

Thanks so much. While I have may have slowed a bit with age, the truth is, very few of my influences were fast or technical, and some were downright technically challenged (Albert King comes to mind). In fact, my speed was more the Jimi Hendrix sort and not the shredder sort. By the way, I was in the Netherlands to play a jazz festival in Groningen about 10 years ago (approx). No binding?

Binding is not the norm for bolt neck (Fender type) guitars. Even hyper expensive models. A small number have had it, such as certain Telecasters, but not vast majority. Thanks for watching.
