She really, really can. Wow. The B-52's are one of my tippy-top favorite handful of bands of all time. This particular performance brilliantly highlights Kate's voice--which again, is best summed up by the word "wow".

Kate was wonderfull inded, but her colleagues were also astonishing, allow me to say it! What were their names again, please?

moxxi This is a great album for sure! I got to be honest at first I wasn't real hip on it but I went and seen them in concert why they were touring for this lp and during the course of that show my eyes were opened and realized it was Good Stuff indeed. And Kate is absolutely amazing, always was but I feel like this album really let her voice shine. Alhough Cindy was dearly missed during her hiatus on this 😢 I won't lie Cindy's always been my fav of the 2 but Kate's a legend in her own right. But there's no sweeter sound in the world then when you put those two ladies together!

To me it shares the top spot with Cosmic Thing. Only reason why it's not higher is because of Cindy's absence in this album. Good Stuff is already a masterpiece as it is, I can only imagine just how much better it could've sounded with Cindy's voice to harmonize with Kate's 😍

Mesopotamia for me. Oh, and if Kate and Cindy arent harmonizing at some point then its not the B-52's.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I saw them live at a big outdoor punk/grunge fest outside Toronto. When the B52s' set came up EVERY black-clad tatooed punker came out from backstage to catch their performance. This was when the B52s were at the top of their form and they OWNED that concert from the count-in to their first song.

The world is a better place for the B-52s having existed! I never got a chance to see them them live back when I was a teenager, but bought all their records (and eventually CDs...) My favourite related tale, however is when I travelled from my native Scotland to Vancouver for a week to work with a client - Motorola in the suburb of Richmond (I think it was back in '99 or '00). After a long flight and then having to traverse a large unfamiliar city with many one-way streets to my hotel (having quickly taught myself to drive an automatic transmission - very rare here until the recent introduction of electric vehicles - in the Avis parking lot), almost getting to the Westin Bayshore hotel by the shortest route (I slightly overshot across the Lions Gate bridge due to the Avis clerk telling me to look on the wrong side of the road for the hotel!), I had to just crash that night in the hotel. The next night I again crashed in my hotel after the tedious commute across the city to Richmond and back again with a full day's work in between. But the night after that I found the energy to get out and about in downtown Vancouver and after a lovely Thai meal wandered into a random pub/bar on Granville Street. The pub opened up into a larger space with a stage, where the house band was performing. Much to my wonder and amazement, the house band was a *really good* B-52s tribute band! Oh, what a night!! 😻

I’ve been infatuated with them for well over 25 years. Unbelievable talent, great songs, and i feel alive when i hear their music.
