Just a "quick" impromptu tip on how to get your sewing projects (in my case bibs) to match! Someone made a comment on how all of my bibs turn out neat and the same. Here I show you my simple solution to an age old problem.
This is a DIY instructional video for those who sew, wish to sew, or would like a hint, tip, or trick to improve the quality of the products they sew.
The featured bibs are currently for sale on my website!

I love this. I’m pretty OCD when it comes to sewing. I don’t embroidery but I do heat transfer vinyl and I’ve learned that I cut my fabric both side together (right sides together) so the pieces match exactly. I have cut our my baby bibs just as you do. It just makes it so much simpler and you have a much cleaner stitch line. It’s good to know I’m not the only one who does this.

Just watched this video today (4/9/2019) Never thought of doing the embroidery first on the 1 full piece of fabric, stitch, THEN cut out. I would have marked the grid lines to line up after cutting out the bib pieces, then do the embroidery. I have sewn a couple of bibs in the past (over 20 years ago) and have actually made my seem line, cut out, THEN I would have put the embroidery on, then stitched the two pieces together...Makes SOO much sense the way you are doing it. Reflecting, and thinking about other things that I have sewn over the years...this can be done/ use this same technique: sew first then cut around the sewn object pieces. You wouldn't believe how, at times, my two pieces didn't line up exactly, and things were slightly off (self taught sewing, and back then no RU-vid, and didn't live close to the library. My teachings of self taught was actually taking apart a lot of different items and restitching back together to see how pieces look before and after, and learned how to manage to make things go together to be stitched. Thanks Eve!! As always I am learning soo much from you!!

I just wanted to tell you I found yesterday 8/8/17 at my Dollar Tree the flexible Set of 2 Chopping Mats because you showed the picture. I bought four, thinking of future pattern hard copies. Thank you so much I will be keeping this method. I had already started going to Staples to have them encased in flexible plastic. This is very comparable to what they do and I could cut it there for free, lol but I haven't yet. Thank you so much! I want to send you pics of my hooded towels.

You have to be sure to let folks know that your embroidery is limited to a 4inch by 4inch design area. The only way around that is by using a repositional hoop (check out our video on that, just do a youtube search for repositional hoop babys booty) and even using that limits you to a 4inch by 6.5 inch area.
