I love how everyone civilians good and jerks join the empire because the empire provide the future stormtroopers and the civilians hate the Republic because of more then one reasons
Well it’s not just that. Why also do people enlist today? They have no purpose, they are in possible legal trouble, need a career opportunity, etc. The guy said it himself. He joins the Empire, he gets paid with a roof over his head. Not everyone has any sort of intentions whatsoever.
@@NotTyfighter Consequences of that are unknown though. Maybe it only worked on Crosshair because he was defective. Either way conscription was far cheaper than cloning
Project War Mantle.... 🎵Dun-dun-Dunnn🎵 The ethical question of cloning aside (why we have deferred the question to media like this, TCW, Blade Runner, etc, rather than addressing it realistically)... it is a certain proactive, alpha-ish mindset that considers military service. Being confrontational or combative or advancement focused is not an entirely bad thing, as long as it can be directed properly, and construcrively. Still having a moral center that calls on you to act is also a desired trait. That is the entire point of war mantle As a project seeking the volunteers. Many Imperials buy into and believe the "New Order" selling point, exactly like the recruits put it.... fed and paid, witha roof over their heads and a purpose... more than the Republic ever did for them. For anyone not exposed to the raw underbelly of the Empire's deeper policies and acts, it isn't even a lie. Being able to be "that guy" who stands up for the morals that matter most to them in the face of certain death is a rare thing. Discovering what you actually got into and realizing it is too late is far more common. That Commissar style "Execute on the spot" tactic is NOT in common practice for a reason, but is terrifyingly effective to those directly in its "Crosshairs" (you see what I did there?) 🤔
Whew, finally made it! Sorry for being late again, just when it seemed like this week was going better, I went and got sick; hoping it clears up quick. But enough of my issues, let's talk about season one, episode 3 of The Bad Batch! Another slower episode today, but one full of important bonding between the Batch and Omega. As a couple others have already said, this is where the squad really takes its first steps into being the "Dad Batch." Lots of fun little interactions in this episode, but my favorite is obviously at the end where Wrecker shows Omega her "room" that he made for her, even giving her his tooka doll Lula. Being a bit of a lighter episode, we're going to be a bit light on the fun facts today too, but I'll do my best. First off, we get our first mention of Project War-Mantle (a.k.a. the Stormtrooper Initiative) since it's very minor mention in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here we find out what the project is: an initiative that sought to fill out the ranks of the Imperial Army with both conscripted and willingly recruited human soldiers, departing from the clones of the Galactic Republic. The project, headed by Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart (whom we briefly met last episode), had it's initial trial run in this episode, wiping out the few remaining rebels under the command of Saw Gerrera (as well as the unfortunate refugees that happened to be with them) at the camp on Onderon from the last episode. The moon that the Bad Batch crash land on is only known as the Ordo moon, named after the Ordo moon dragon identified by Tech in the episode (both make their first and, to date, only appearances in this episode); the gas giant the moon orbits is currently unnamed. We don't know where the Ordo moon dragon gets its name, but there is a planet named Ordo. In canon, not much is known about it other than that it's a Mandalorian world, but in Legends it was home to the Mandalorian clan of the same name. One of the most famous members of Clan Ordo was a human man named Canderous Ordo, a warrior that fought in the Mandalorian Wars against the Jedi that turned to mercenary work following the Mandalorians' defeat at the final battle of the war on Malachor V and their subsequent disarmament and fragmentation. He eventually becomes the leader of the Mandalorians under the title Mandalore the Preserver and would work to reunite the Mandalorian Clans. He's a major character in the video games Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 (both of which I would recommend). Well, I think that's all I've got for today. I'll see you guys on Thursday for episode 4, "Cornered!" See you all then! 😀
This episode was cute IMO XD, EXEPT the part where the empire mercilessly slaughtered a bunch of civilians, and the dragon like species that absorbs electrical currents. ( speaking of dragons i the golem had one recently earlier for dinner a purple on in fact without his arguable plot armor 😈😜) ( that last bit was a reference / argument to a bad ending of a kids game XD and because I’m kinda bored lol) ( I just came home from work so yeah XD)
