I wish they made a Christmas special for rise of the Guardians....literally there connected to Christmas and yet Trollls has 3!!!(While being completely irrelevant).
But they’re psychotic like Alex said in the first Madagascar film. Although Private’s selflessness and compassion towards Ted The Polar Bear and willingness to sacrifice part of their holiday to rescue Private from Nana were the standout of their character.
To be fair, Shrek and Donkey should be on the Low Nice tier, like the 2 least Nice: Shrek at the very bottom of Nice with Donkey by a close second. From Shrek’s perspective, ogres don’t celebrate Christmas or any holidays at all. He made it abundantly clear to Donkey, Puss and the other fairytale characters that he wanted to spend Christmas alone with Fiona and the ogre baby triplets. But Shrek admittedly was ungrateful for the storytelling and holiday cheer-turned mishaps Donkey, Puss and the gang gave him. And it took Shrek until the end of the special to apologize to his friends and realize the true meaning of Christmas and that it can be celebrated with both family and friends. So, we really can’t hold too much against Shrek and he deserves a present for turning over a new leaf, or in his case, a new frog, given his swamp life. As for Donkey, while he, Puss and the gang meant well trying to give Shrek a fun Christmas, he ended up making things worse from taking over the storytelling position to a tug-of-war with Shrek over a Christmas book of Shrek’s interest resulting in the Christmas tree falling into the fire which lit on Shrek’s butt prompting the furious ogre to kick the whole gang out of his house with Donkey at the last second. It’s clear that Donkey hasn’t quite learned to give people their space, even on holidays. Maybe Donkey would’ve gotten a somewhat higher ranking if he only came around with Shrek’s permission and only if Shrek felt The Ogre Family-Exclusive Christmas was boring and dull. Lesson is, respect others’ wishes, even on Christmas. But even for an annoying equine, he at least has a good heart and a decent amount of Christmas spirit as opposed to his Scrooge-turned Frosty The Snowman ogre friend. And somehow I feel like Fiona should’ve been on this list, albeit The Gold Medal For Most Nice. No offense to The Penguins Of Madagascar, but Fiona looked at both Shrek and Donkey’s individual perspectives on Christmas in the nicest of ways. She initially supported Shrek’s idea of the Ogre Family spending Christmas alone and she also found Donkey and friends’ ideas of Christmas storytelling fun. When an angry Shrek kicked Donkey, Puss and the others out for causing chaos, Fiona lectured Shrek on how he treated their guests and that Christmas isn’t about her, him or the babies and sadly leaves the house to apologize to the unwanted guests. While The Penguins sacrificing part of their holiday to save Private from Nana and agreeing with Private to spread the holiday cheer to Ted The Polar Bear was thoughtful, Fiona understanding other people’s beliefs about Christmas is more selfless in a way that doesn’t cause any harm or damage. Needless to say, Fiona is actually the more apologetic and selfless of the 3 main characters of Shrek The Halls and no one can deny that Fiona has the true Christmas spirit. I hope this will bring you around to the morality of characters in Christmas specials and I wish you and all the WickedBinge staff a Merry Christmas and thanks for reading this.
Alex’s arc doesn’t get enough credit. He went from being a selfish, arrogant, narcissistic, egotistical celebrity to a kind, brave, caring, selfless hero. And that’s perfectly shown in Merry Madagascar. You can see that he’s genuinely remorseful for shooting down Santa, does everything in his power to make sure Christmas isn’t ruined because of him, and ultimately decides to go back to Madagascar to help Santa. Two words: *Character growth!* 🤩🤩🤩👍🦁👑
Also although this is not relevent to the video, I think I would like it if Dreamworks made a Bad Guys Prequel movie that shows what Mr Wolf, Mr Snake, Mr Shark, Mr Piranha, and Ms Tarantula’s lives were like during their childhoods, how they met each other and became friends, and what their first heist was and what it was like and how well it went.
Another reason King Julien earned his spot among the naughty characters is that one of the verse's in his song; Santa Claus is coming to Madagascar is literally "So be BAD, for goodness sake!". He's trying to encourage others to be naughty.
No surprise that the Bad Guys gang are in the grey area, they were doing good deeds in order to carry out their annual Holiday Heist-tacular 🙂 but they’re still good at heart

Good idea for a naughty to nice Christmas video this year. My favorite DreamWorks holiday special is Shrek The Halls, and I heard that people weren't a huge fan, but even ogres can celebrate Christmas, despite being large scary monsters fitting much better for Halloween. Also y'all should not forget to make a least nice to most nice on The Polar Express because the film is iconic, and absolutely amazing in its own right, even if it's not as beloved by fans like Home Alone is to this day.💚🤎🧅🎅🏻🎄🚂🏠
