Born in '45. All my 5 kids, 17 grandchildren can sing this. When all together someone will brake out singing it and all join in. Now my 12 great grandchildren are singing it.
Born September 8, 1945, and I was 13 years old in 1958 and Thunder Road was the greatest Movie of my 78 years and my biggest influence of hot and fast cars.. Robert Mitchum today is one of my favorite actors...The perfect guy to play That character....
The night I left the road and flew and rolled my truck over 100mph was the last time I drank alcohol, so in a way my youth was over, 27yrs later I still have not drank alcohol and I only go about 98/99 mph, they will suspend my license at 100mph!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
In 1958 I was 10 years old... so, I probably didn’t see it that year but a few years after. This was one of those movies that ‘made an impression’... and yes, I do remember this song too...
I remember going to see this film about 1960 when I was in my teens, I remember the film and Robert Mitchum I enjoyed the film and remembered the song and even today I can remember the tune and words ...brilliant actor never knew it was him singing or wrote the words
I still have the 45 single to this song! Love this show and song! I also remember the Jim Stafford Show and Jim trying to get Robert Mitchum to sing this song! Robert refused to sing it for some reason!
