You are correct. Rather than huge casinos or shopping malls, I too would rather see land get farmed and regenerated with cattle graising, goats bleeting, happy pigs getting fat to feed families, chickens laying their golden eggs, and beautiful children running free barefoot!
I don't understand what the big deal is, so what if they are millionaires? They are not living like spoiled priveleged people. They are having kids, they are raising them with values, teaching them how to take care of the land. So they have family money they are giving back to the environment and not taking anything away from anyone while they do it. So they own an oven that costs $30,000 would it be better if they owned a fleet of expensive sports cares?
Because they actively hide the fact that they have a full-time staff supporting their family and farm. People really don't like that kind of thing. She puts a ton of content out where she's trying to show herself as the most amazing perfect super mom, all while having a staff behind the scenes. And it's easy to ditch the city life and start a farm when you have zero financial limitations. So all of this aspirational content she puts out is a load of crap.
@@ed8329 I don't see where they hide the fact that they have a full time supporting staff, they are very open about that, and this supporting staff is paid for their work. The people employed there are probably part of the community and are probably very happy they have the jobs. Still don't see what the difference is how wealthy they are, they are working and giving back to the community by providing jobs and we're not heaing the empolyees are being exploited. It sounds to me people may be jealous of their wealth. Would it be better if they were wasting their wealth on luxury cars and mansions?

I grew up on a farm and ranch and we lived very similar to this. We were not poor we had lived this way for generations and loved this way of life. Our money was tied up in our land unless we chose to sell some of it off which is totally the owners right. More power to them bringing their kids up and living a wholesome way of life. You can’t please everyone so don’t even try. Live your life however you choose.
Take Keanu Reeves as an example. He's worth millions of dollars yet he doesn't show off his possessions. He doesn't live a glam life & remains a humble person & even takes a subway & eat's ice cream at the sidewalk. Same thing with Ballerina, even if they are rich, they remain a humble lifestyle in the farm away from city life. Nothing wrong with it. I really don't understand why people attacking her.
I was unaware anyone had a problem with them. They seem to have a very happy life in Utah, old money or not. And they also seem to work very hard, including the kids so.... honestly. I am losing my patience with humanity.
No one has a problem with them, and one legitimate complaint is that they aren’t open that they had help buying that farm and they weren’t just a “poor couple” starting from scratch buying an 11 million dollar land in their 20’s. Humility is a virtue!

Very well said! I just found their channel today, so I’m trying to catch up on the history. I think it’s awesome that they came from all that money, had the world on a string, but chose to live their lives in a completely different way. What work ethic level is required to born rich and live with staff doing things for you while you pretend in cameras? Give them the basic wage, no emploees, and only a normal garden in hental house and let's see their real level of hard work 😅

I was in a debate with one of my friends because of her channel. My stand in this is "Because it's simple and from scratch per se doesn't mean she's poor." Like how y'all buying ingredients with the price today? She did not mislead anyone. People are just salty because their first assumption was wrong.

and I think there's the rub. I don't really care if someone is rich -- a guy I used to work with was the son of a billionaire from our hometown. But he never lied about anything.
This controversy is so funny. 1) People assumed they were poor, because ...? When I accidentally clicked on one of her videos, where she is in the kitchen cooking, I immediately knew, they are rich. I live in a traditional countryside. Some 5* hotels have that kind of style with old wood. People know nothing about nothing. Those old wood tables? You think they are cheap? For real? A 30k oven is expensive? Are you kidding?!?! I'm far from rich, but I will buy a similar expensive oven for my kitchen next year. Where are people living? 2) Critics say they make farming look glamorous? Really? How? She is dressed very modestly in her messy kitchen. They opened the fridge in one video - it was messy. When she is finished with cooking, the kids come to the table and just try the food, one after another. Everything is calm, but also chaotic, like it's supposed to be when you have to feed so many mouths. You can see looking at her hands, that she does a lot of hard work. 3) Her husband is apparently controlling, and the wife works herself to death? From what I have seen, the husband is as tired as her. Yes, they have money. But from what I have seen, this is the most "realistic" portrayal of farm life. And making some butter or mozzarella ... why not? I live on a farm too, we have our own vegetables, we don't make butter, but we bake and cook. Every meal is home cooked. This is only strange, when you were raised in the city and never touched grass (literally). My farm is worth a million. Nobody thinks I'm rich, the opposite is the case, they treat me like I'm miserable and poor, since the house is pretty old. Unless you sell it all, this is just work, work, work, work. I would rather live in a tiny apartment, and going on with my day job.

Not as simple as all that. I subscribed, loved the whole idea of the family. After ordering many things from them, I've come to believe the RU-vid channel is a cheap way to advertise all their products. It's not just that - nor does it have anything to do with monetizing either. Hannah claims to want to show people how to make sourdough, yet other videos shared won't offer a recipe. Who does that, not Martha Stewart or Paula Deen. Ask her to publish a recipe and requests are ignored. I don't care how many children they have to keep busy, I think it is a way to reach the masses about their beef and pork as well as clothing, kitchenware. I am jealous of the beautiful cream provided by the family milk cows though.

Only east coasters think that, people from the west/Texas ranchers and loaded and people know it. However they aren’t as flashy. So either someone from the east coast or some goofy Californian who blows all their money on maseratis might not be to sense it. Trust me people in Wyoming/Montana/Texas understand FULL well ranchers can be rich. To be fair this dude is rich cause his dad owns part of jet blue or something so he inherited that money. I don’t know if farming can make you that rich but cattle ranching combined with oil can make you very rich

Because the way they farm is not the way actual farms work. They obviously have employees, they have nannies (which they deny) and project a reality that doesn't exist. I grew up on a dairy farm (my daycare) in a very rural community. The issue is they are being dishonest and family farma are dwindling BECAUSE ITS SO EXPENSIVE, yet they purpoaely make it look like they don't have money (they bought their house and changed various aspects to look more worn and "authentic"). It's basically instagram aesthetics that people believe.

Not fake stories from those that had zero fear, risk and disconfort following that path. I don't watch that channel. You can kind of piece together that both their families had some money. They would have never got a loan for that farm with her background in ballet or his bit of management education. That’s not sufficient for the $2-3 million they would have needed. They “pretend” to be homesteaders with absolutely no money!! Just be honest! If your adventure fails you still have a safety net. Most people who take a risk like this truly have nothing. It’s not as victorious if you have lots of money and try something different. If you fail, you still have money and security.
I don’t see them PRETENDING to do anything. They are doing back breaking work every day all day. And their kids are pitching in all the time too. They chose this lifestyle because it’s what they wanted for their kids and themselves. A big family, land, feeding people.
