Imagine how hard it would be for her, when she missed her child so much but everyone forgot about her child and she didn't even have people to talk to. No words can explain how much pain a mother losing her child had suffered. And this song, i think it really holds the mother's emotion.

My take on iksong relationship right now is that songhwa likes him too, she does have feelings for him, but the reason why she said no right now, is because she does not want to risk their 20 years of friendship, she's afraid that if they right now start to date and something happens in their relationship resulting in them breaking up, she will lose her best friend and it might even effect their whole squad. But i think that as the season goes on, ikjun will gain her trust somehow and naturally their relationship will change, songhwa would be willing to take the risk and know that their relationship will be so strong it wouldn't break up and effect their friendship. While everyone relates this song to songhwa-ikjun, dont forget that it represents seok hyeong and his ex-wife as well. His ex-wife seems like trying to get back together, but he's maintaining a distance (eg: eating in canteen when she asked him out for dinner). Songhwa-ikjun story wont be easy. They have 20 years of friendship on the line. I believe they have each other in their heart, but I understand songhwa's decison to put up a wall. Such a precious friendship in exchange for a relationship is risky, if anything goes wrong it will drift them apart and change the dynamic of the whole group. It's sad to see them awkward and uncomfortable with each other in the first episode, but i trust the pd-nim and the writer. Lets pray that our iksong ship will sail someday, somehow :)

This drama is the most satisfying and well written drama I ever watched. All the characters are great, the dialogues are master piece and the cast is just perfect. I know many people know about this drama and is so popular, but I hope they get the awards they deserve, not only for the OST soundtracks, also for other categories.
Let's be honest, jo jeongseok is one of the best singer and actor out there. He always bring his act with the best as he could and in one of interview his opponent in different drama said even with his ability right now, he still take notes everytime they act to improve and correct something that he thought lack off. Songhwa’s decision was understandable. She cannot risk 20 years of friendship. A lot has happened in those years and she thinks it is better to just be on the level where the possibility of losing each other is unlikely : and that is in friendship.
Likewise Seok Hyeong too.after divorcing his ex wife,he probably had enough.being single was better until Chu Minha came in. Enough in the sense he wasn't unhappy about his marriage,but was sadden that he has to divorce his ex wife due to both parents. From what his mom told Rosa(Jeongwon mom),he said her family wasn't rich & was just using Seok Hyeong family to bring out the money. You can tell that he felt bad to divorce his ex wife,thus why he distances himself. To me,Ikjun has to be the most hurt(wife cheated on him,him probably regret rejecting Songhwa in the early days,had to bring up Uju himself,his own sister getting sick later on). I think he was taken aback when he rejected songhwa after what he seem to saw that she wanted to give him a gift on his birthday. I am glad he has a smart son,who doesn't hate his father even though he is rarely at home. Songhwa rejecting 3 mens just for Ikjun. I find it irony that Minha mom mistook Junwan as Seok hyeong when she said he resemble a bear.
i've seen this kinda of dilemma that songhwa probably have for ikjun, she loves him but everything just feels fine for now, ikjun is thereㅡonly one call away, she can talk and laugh to ikjun's sillyness, romance would probably ruin the happiness that she and ikjun have for 20 years. my friends also like this. they've been friend for like 7 years, they know each other really well. they always tell people here and there that they're just friend. and then when i asked the guy, did u have any feeling for her? he answered, "i probably have, i dont know, i'm afraid if we ended up having a love relationship and it didn't work out i will lose her completely, i will lose 2 person: a friend and a love. i'm afraid of losing her more than not be able to having her." the scene, when songhwa told ikjun to not to confess his feelings... i truly understood why. my friend couldnt even risk his 7 years of friendship so songhwa can't do that too right for her 20 years of friendship with ikjun. For episode 1, I wanted to give a big hug to Min Ha, Eating solo for two in restaurant, for being snowed out and seeing Seok Hyeong with his ex, for being reprimanded by SH answering his call while she was doing a procedure.
Since season 1 I feel like songhwa and ikjun will end up together but their road towards that path is far and bumpy, they need time. songhwa need time to accept ikjun again in her heart after all heartbreak he gave to her, ikjun need to learn how to wait and give his heart toward someone unlike he used to do (he used to accept love first from all his ex). This first episode is the best scenario ever for both of them. So they can develop both their personality and their feelings toward each other. they will end up together, marks my word.

Song-hwa is consistent in the rejecting a confession department, from Seok-hyeong to Chi-hong to Ik-Jun. Could it be that she herself has been rejected in the past? Could it be by Ik-Jun? (cue the message of the “Rain and You” song). Now that we knew the characters and their stories, songs to be played this Season 2 are subjected to deeper interpretations. It seems this song is an anthem of Song-hwa for Ik-jun, but could also be of Seok-heyongto his ex-wife. And I have this theory about Song-hwa’s fondness of the rain, she definitely is a pluviophile, hinted many times in Season 1 and now in the first episode when she agreed with Ik-jun to just stay in the car and watch the rain. Again I’m telling you there is really something about the rain that these two had a shared experience. I believe it leaves a memory of something that happened to her years ago, something that is related to Ik-jun, something that made Songhwa fell for him and she moved on from that love. A memory triggered by the song. A closure perhaps, an answer to Ik-jun. And that awkward moment they’ve had in the car after band practice, and when Song-hwa asked Ik-jun to play “Rain and You’, these foreshadowed Song-hwa’s rejection and Ik-jun’s expression kind of implied that he already knows that it’s a no. When you connect dots from first season, this song definitely represents Song Hwa’s feelings for Ik Jun.. perhaps, Seok Young’s for his ex wife too.. after all, he’s the one who suggested the song.. and there are references in first season of him still having feelings for his ex. I expect this seaon to have two different endings for Song Hwa and Seok Hyeong who are sailing in the same boat now. Song Hwa will find a way to overcome her painful memories and get together with Ik Jun. Seok Hyeong will also move on from his past, but won’t go back to his wife. In the end, they will all be happy for sure :)

From Season 1 where she had to tell Ik Jun that it was raining late one night and he raced to Song Hwa's office where she already had the window opened and watching and he says to her "Its raining let's eat." To all those who still believe her crush in Jun Wan, I say I ask you what more convincing do you need that it has always been Ik Jun? Even if PD Shin changes things up as he is known to do, I still won't believe it. I think Ik Jun already had an idea how Song Hwa would respond to a confession so he posed the question to her instead in a round about way leaving room for her/him to be able to move on comfortably regardless. He still makes her smile/laugh with all he does. Who else could have left the 2 cups of coffee on the hood of her car except Ik Jun? Who else gets that wide of a grin from her except for Ik Jun?
I personally don’t like long time best friends to be romantically involved with each other.... it’s too awkward for me. But iksong is an exception to that, they deserve to be happy kaksksksks I really hope they end up together. But I will understand if they don’t.

watched the episode today in the midst of the the heavy rains. when this song played my heart wrenched real hard. there was this sense of slight regret and sighs about the past and present yet still some warmth and hope for the future. this show is really telling their stories.
