The warlock and the wizard himself, Paul Anthony Romero is an absolute legend. I wish he had actually gotten a face cameo as one of the heroes in the games.
This was amazing, I’m so glad you still play this song, it really is a masterpiece. I’m definitely gonna look more into your music, I regret not doing it sooner.
Love the Warlock theme intro. Your music for Heroes I-III is world breaking to me, even after all those years. Thank you for the gold in form of sound.
Crag Hack is pleased; not only do you get to hear the ruthless, merciless brutal side but can also experience the delicate, whimsical composed side..! side
It's weird because I have zero nostalgia for Heroes 1, I have never played it. But this is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you so much Paul for composing and playing this, and to everyone involved as well. I purchased the Heroes Orchestra CD and get to listen to this in CD audio quality. 100% worth it. Cheers!
HOMM1 was one of my very first games, literally one of my first gaming memories is listening to the amazing town themes. over 25 years later I have become a game developer and worked in all sort of studios also thanks to your amazing work that sparked my passion. And for that, I thank you
This may very well come off as an uneducated question but is this a Händel inspired piece? Which were your main inspirations behind it? It is truly great, I fell in love with the music in HOMM1 at an early age
Thank you very much for your comment. Your question is not at all uneducated, it just means you have a very highly developed sense of sound and you can hear the connections. My main inspiration for this is a piece by the son of Johan Sebastian Bach. His name is Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach. when I was a child I used to play a piece of music of his called Sollfegio in c minor. My piece is in D minor. The formation of the patterns are very similar physically. These type of patterns always stayed in my brain and in my hands because I rehearse them so much as a child. So when I was wanting to write music in this style, it actually was not very difficult for me because my hands already knew the physical language
