Love owls. Especially barn owls. I'm lucky enough to see them when I drive at night. Can I ask - what did the narrator say hovering is called? I couldn't catch it.

Hi Gwen, Fantastic, it is always special to see them in the wild isn't it. We refer to the style of flight Barn Owls use to hunt as quartering - they fly slow and low over fields covering the ground systematically to listen out for prey items. They have been known to hover momentarily before pouncing on their prey in the grass, although there is no specialist term for this. Naomi
