hello, my particular situtation is i own my vehicle and pay my own insurance and also use it for work employed by a company in the pest control industry as a pest control tech with a magnetic sign that i take off on the weekends. Im not really sure what kind of insurance i need.
Personal auto. You’ll need an additional coverage endorsement for work vehicle. You own your own vehicle, therefore you need to cover any additional cost. Your employer can choose to reimburse you for anything, including gas and repair, but typically insurance is on the employee. I’d call your provider and ask about adding this coverage first, you don’t want it to show up as exposure (which can affect insurance), and if it’s too high I’d call around. This is the same as the new insurance coverage if you did Uber or skip the dishes. Insurance will ask if you partake in any work related activity ( Uber, skip, or in your case using the vehicle to work pest control) and it will be additional.
