That's a great beginner's lesson on slide! When starting slide, for me the hardest thing was the right hand muting of all other strings except the one you're plucking and then muting that note when plucking the next note unless you want multiple notes ringing out concurrently which sounds great also when done purposefully. Then the 2nd hardest thing was relearning the fretboard because of open tuning. I switched from Open E to Open D only for tonal purposes. I found Open D just sounds better to my ears. Anyway, an excellent video for starters! Hope to see more videos on slide guitar. Thanks much.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching and the kind words! I agree about open D it sounds awesome eh! Open C too! I know what you mean about the right hand muting it’s a tricky thing! I’ll be sure to include that in the future. Learning the fretboard again is pretty daunting at first. I’ll be including that too in the future. Thanks again 🙏🏻
@@andyknightguitarist That's great to hear, I'm looking forward to see anything that can help me with slide. I'm not a beginner but also not at intermediate level either so I've got a long way to go to get decent at playing. You're absolutely right though in your comment about when one's regular guitar playing gets stale. I found mixing in learning slide not only helped me from playing my usual boring licks with a standard tuned guitar but brought some excitement and motivation back because it is almost like learning a brand new instrument. Thanks much.
