I have a 9 year old Basset. Best dog I have ever owned. Trying to bred him before he gets to old to have his line go on. Best damn dogs ever by far. Love them and you always get the same feeling. Totally loyal to you just have to not mind the slobber.
Makes me miss my Basset named Ringo who passed away last summer. Definitely my favorite dog I've ever had. He loved the whole family but was especially loyal to me since he was my dog. He loved to play with our German Shepherd too.
Thank you for posting this!! I didn't think anything could make me smile today, but all I had to do was watch these precious Bassets!! Thank you for that!!
My Basset passed away a month ago. i really miss that dog, even his howls and slobber. I am getting a puppy basset before the end of December. Hopefully another 11 years of a best friend.
We have a 3 month old Basset that we are rearing. Thankfully we have 2 Dachshunds that romp and play with her, but she can be a slight handful. But, for the most part, she is a cute, loving, smart, energetic dog. Great breed.
Bassets are the clown prince of the dog world. i have one now named Taz. He is apply named, he does spin. He has the best personality of any dog I've had. When I come home from work he is always there to greet me with his little grunts and sweet expression. He plays well with his "sister', Ginger, half boxer half terrier. We had a half basset half border collie named Flash that took from us in 2015. The three of them were a joy to watch. I loved this video and it brought tears to my eyes but a smile. Thanks for posting!
I miss mine so much too, wish i could get another one someday. Its funny, you wouldnt think these dogs would run very fast but looks are very deceiving.
I have a rottie-basset mix. He is the sweetest dog I had ever had in my life, he made me fall in love with both breeds, even though I had swear I will never had neither of them. Now Basset Hound is one of my favorites♥️
Oh my god, thx for this Video, we have 2 Basset Hounds, 12 weeks old, all Flowers are destroyed 🤪, but the eyes from the dogs, 🥰, wonderfull animals... greetings from Germany
I had a Basset when I was a kid - Geraldine the Basset Queen! She was awesome! Broke a leash to chase after a rabbit once when I was walking her - I never thought an animal with such short little legs could run so fast! Although there was one quality they left out in this video - Stubborn! There no more willful and incalcitrant dog than the Basset - it's one of the things that endear me to the breed.
I had a basset when I was a kid growing up and now that my son is old enough he wants a dog and he has looked over several breeds and we have looked over several breeds (we have a lot of room and 6 acres of land) and we will most likely be getting a basset.
I’ve owned Chihuahuas, Beagles, Coonhounds, Poodles, Bloodhounds, and probably a few more. Loved them all, but when a got my first Basset Hound, it stole my heart. It will be Bassets and only Bassets for me till the day I die.
We got our Bassett Sadie in 2006 and we know she wont be with us much longer as she was a year or two when we adopted her. She is the most gentle dog. I dont ever want any other breed.
basset hounds are really friendly creatures... appearance wise I rather different dogs, but my friend had a beagle/basset mix and she was the friendliest dog I have ever encountered and there is now way she would bight anyone. when they went on vacation she would come stay with us and she never tried to run away or anything, she would treat us like we were her owners and came to lick us and would sit on the cough with us. really nice dog :)
I have had the pleasure and heartbreak of loving and losing 2 basset angels. I miss them sooo much. I love the breed but I also agree they do have an odor unlike any other dog unfortunately. They were both clowns. So so funny to play with and just sit and watch. I don't know about time lords but mine were amazing escape artists. They both did wonderful jobs of trimming the fruit trees from the bottom. Amazing they both never showed how they could stand on their back feet. Lol until I accidentally glanced out of my bedroom window one day and saw them both standing on their hind legs stretching so far up trying to grab the fruit from the trees. Lol. My neighbors don't miss them singing! My final memory is the day my dad who has since passed. Spent a week digging post holes in our really hard clay soil for a fence to keep them from escaping. He did such a great job and the fence was a good 4 ft high and it was a hot summer so he was really happy to finish. I was out admiring what a great job he had done and then we picked up his tools and started walking to the car and yes that's right both followed us. UNBELIEVABLE they just jumped and climbed over it. So so sneaky. Might mention that Dad said nothing, face was as red as a tomato jumped in the car and went home. Didn't see him for a week or so. OOPS!
These Bassets are my breed and I love them. I have loved every one I have had the pleasure of owning. I have had success with my Bassets in ability, obedience and rally. You have to know how a Basset is convinced he wants to do what you want him to do.
I can't wait to get my basset hound puppo in 4-5 days! My father and I just lost our overgrown King Charles (something was funky about him, he wasn't fat, he was a Clifford!), and our happy Labrador and all we have now is a sweet chihuahua. I love her but it's sure a shame to not have a bigger/tougher goofy dog in the house so I can't wait! ❤
What a fantastic video, thanks so much for it! I love bassets and the big tri color male could be the twin of my buddy Sammy that passed this past June.
My basset passed away yesterday at 5 P.M. My heart sobbed watching this video, my best friend Daisy May passed away peacefully knowing that she was in a better place. Getting another basset hound in 4 days. Love this breed to death.
3:24 that’s priceless that bigger basset is protecting the little basset if you didn’t see the big basset hound knocked the little one down bc the bigger one was going after it and then the other big one went after him 👏🏻👏🏻
im a third generation basset owner...accept no substitutes.........best dogs ever...hands down......for sure the best thing the French ever did............
Our first kinda smelled but was so darn cute, we couldn't help but hug the guy anyway. Our second one doesn't smell and doesn't drool much either. :D aruuuu! Now our lab from years ago had fritos in his ears. lol.
karal guidubaldi I knowwww Lol I always have to be prepared to run because mine will always just run after anything 😂😂😂😂. Ahhhh like it’s annoying at the time but you can’t stay mad at them. Like you just can’t
Aileen Lee Bondoront I was able to get the fence on the back of our property free from craigslist. I just had to go and pick it up. We have also seen people raise money for vet bills with go fund me. There are a lot of Basset lovers out there. Do you have a Basset Hound rescue in your area? How is he doing?
Miss my harry and daisy mae 😢 they brought me so much joy!! All of this plus cuddles! Do you sell puppies? I would rescue, but this will be my last dog...want a puppy!
