1 thing people always forget about the Type 74 series, is their hydro suspension. You can get guns on target where other vehicles could only dream off. Especially over the side, use it.

Can’t believe they keep nerfing Japan. The Type 74s are my one of, if not my most favorite tanks in the real world. The Japanese tree is really in a ruff spot right now and it just keeps getting worse. Still not as bad as Italy and France. Also the Type 74 is supposed to be small. It’s so it’s able to travel using Japan’s infrastructure. And nice Gate sight.

It got a pretty solid armor buff a while ago. Turret face is 240mm now (up from 100). I do agree Japan really gets it bad in balancing though. The Type 90s are overtiered, the F-4EJ and EJ Kai are both missing weapons, the T-2 has none of its historical weapons, and the STB HEAT removal is absurd.

The Type 74 is better used as fire support for teammates, but when you only get teammates that won't push when it's needed then you are stuck trying to push with front armor as thin as 50mm on the drivers hatch which just won't work.

I had a few month brake(prop close to 6) from playing WT and 3 weeks ago decided to play it quite extensivly again exactly with japan between 8.0 and 10.7. Honestly the grind for modules and new vehicles has gotten so bad that i've never had such high frustration. I played some battles with the Leo 2A5/6 and M1A1 and the grind was just as bad, so i decided to voice my concerns and ask in the forums if anyone else has noticed the shift from the last few months. Post gets deleted by a mod and he told me to git gud and play lower tiers.. So suffering with the vehicles wasn't bad enough but i'm also expected not to make progress in the game. Some sick logic there from this specific mod

I really like the Type 74, and I swear it's not just because I watched Gate.

The optics also got nerfed on these tanks, saddest change for me by far, i loved its x16 optics.

STB lost the HEAT, the 16x zoom sniping sight and the reverse is reduced to 8kph. It's now a worse type 74 at same BR.

The Anime is "Gate" it basically is an Anime where a gate from a mystical world opens to modern day Tokyo. The fantasy world is using medieval technology, attack Japan and Japan deploys it's JGSDF through the gate and commit absolute seal clubbing

I really fuckin like the type 93 round it feels super powerful

People seem to be complaining a lot about these things, but in reality they are still extremely good for their BR. They have a lower top speed than the Leopard 1 but off road they are only slightly slower plus they have much more resilient armor, plus a really strong round. Also fun fact the STB still has the good reverse speed

The type74 was a nice sniping tank but nowadays at this br kinda suck ngl(bmps PUMA turms and so on)the lack of thermal sights is rought to , but is my favorite tank and that hidropneumatic suspension is sooo good :D (and that 40mm front uper plate strugles with auto cannons)

Hey Justin! I’m a big fan and I’ve been thinking about grinding Japan. Could you do a type 10 or type 90’s video soon?

reasons why I don't use this thing in an aggressive way anymore, the engine is too loud, people can hear you coming from the other side of the map, it feels too sluggish now for such a light armored vehicle, and with the reverse nerf if you don't get the guy on the first shot you're dead, it's really a shame cuz this used to be my favorite platform in the entire game, now it's just as you said, it's a situational vehicle.

Ah yes my favourite part in WT...nerfing. I grinded Japan to have fun at 9.0 with a quite nice line-up and guess what? Half of it has being nerfed...again. Let me be honest, GJ really enjoy to make us suffer by breaking our line-ups and favourite vehicles; then they increase the pain by uptier the BMP-2M but adding the APFSDS belt... I never suffer so much BS on this game since the last two days, every tank i used get overpressure even from a track shot (really it's happened two times with my Type 96A(P), even being hit on the IRCM...overpressure death for the crew). Then i tried my new 9.3 line-up with Russia, to spade the very same vehicle that make me suffer...it did not ended well (wasted the whole free repairs for both Khrizantema and 2S25, and spaded by a inch the BMP...). Skill issue? I do not think so, i'm pretty confidend and enough skilled to achive great results. This game is becoming more and more frustrating than ever... (Still wish and wait for a BR decompression, but i will probably die by old age first...)

Japan is a skilled player nation and is not friendly to aggressive shoot and scoot play style. It's a hang alittle back and medium to long range shooting. Till you get the t90 and t10 then they are awesome for the 4 second reload. I just think gajin rely too much on coding and results from their algorithms to balance right cause not many ppl play Japan or other minor nations unless you are skilled and can take a hit to your silver lions if you loose a bit. Honestly gajin needs to leave the minor nations alone and make them cheaper to repair but im tired of always facing the big three with little of the other nations. Hell Japan type don't get as much silver lions bonus as the other nations do. So it's mainly a play Japan cause you like Japan not because their a powerful nation like Germany Russian and Americans.
