So, wait, I need someone to explain this to me: Who's allied with Russia in this fight and who's combatting the separatists? I'm a bit lost here. But the subject intrigues me.
@i have I know like if I got shot anywhere I wouldn’t want the press taking photos of me while I’m in pain it would be rude recording or taking photos of me while in pain also I get why they need the photos but I find how the press work stupid
yeah.... I've always wondered how they could be so inconsiderate each and every time I watch this. give the man some space, rebel or not he's in for a long and hard life after that injury.
@@GauravSanjeevKumarBhardwaj1220 almost like the journalists just want the story no matter who it involves... press are are both a hinderance and a great help on the modern battlefield.
U guys saw the pictures of all of the rebels at the morgue right? That's what happened everytime the Ukrainian army met the rebels...It was right after this battle that Russia began deploying its troops on a mass scale...Don't listen to the retards that claim " Ukraine has been fighting miners and truck drivers for 5 years". The pictures of them at the morgue, is what happens when Ukraine really does fight local rebels. Ukraine is fighting the Russian army...
They weren't soldiers. I mean regular soldiers. Part of rebels were russian professional soldiers-invaders, but another part was locals, who trusted kremlins propaganda more, than their own brains and took russians money, russian lethal weapons, instructions, russian comandors and began to kill another ukrainians for Russia.
@@naimma9356 Russia - is an enemy. People in Ukraine knows it, during the centures, people in America realize it just now, after 6-th day of January, 2021.
@morgan the forces that remain in Iraq are war dogs and meant to do that. Unfortunately it's an effective way of dealing with insurgents. Although it can back fire if taken too far I.e Soviet invasion of afghanistan
I really do understand the soldiers hatred for press. Not only are they making their already difficult day more so but they are taking pictures of wounded men like its a fucking art show.
Petrodollar will kill even on days like this to maintain its supremacy and world domination. Ukraine is part of NATOs push to marginalize Russia. Russia pulled out of Eastern Europe and NATO kept on moving in.
A round of applause to Vice News. For a bunch of low budget, barely recognized journalists they do better reporting and get better film than anyone in CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, etc
Once in a while i come back to watch this video again and again. Henry Langston and his crew did an amazing job filming this imo. The scene at 5:40 when the hind coming in their direction is almost surreal.
@@vangestelwijnen especially as all this fancy camera equipment might look threatening to a hind-pilot who's already under fire from the ground. Close call
@KooKooKachoo Mike CNN are notorious warmongers who are well known for Gatekeeping information and news stories, this has absolutely nothing to do with Trump. Quit being a tribal sheep. Don't rally behind corporate establishment news, it isn't on your side either.
Yeah he really manned up. In the first dispatches he striked me like some kind of honor student or something; now he's walking around on that battlefield as if he had some kind of bullet-immunity or something.
Kind of sad how a reporter need to dodge bullets and shit to be respected, and that by people sitting far away in their safe homes behind their computer monitor and yelling "Grow some balls!".
alexandros1984 You sound surprised? Did you really think technology and a propagandized state education would improve the state of humanity? Truth is we were never better of than we were in antiquity. People had technology enough to make their life a little comfortable without making it complicated, back than our technology matched our wisdom, now its not even close. Surely a great war is enviable.
Society is not modern, never has been and never will. 100 years from now, i am sure humans will see our lifestyles as horrible, as will their predecessors see their lives in another 100 years. Things change. We are a in a short Pax Atomica, but trust me, peace never lasts for long. Countries will fall, nations will form, wars will happen. The paradigm shift is bound to happen by at least 2030.
Good report VICE but I know you have to get good footage but walking into a hospital morgue to get video of dead DPR soldiers was so was so bang out of order
No believe me I get it's real life but their is a certain amount of respect any human being deserves even after death and filming a dead body just for exciting footage is just plain wrong
Woah hang on a second, the only media outlet I trust to cover Ukraine is VICE so simmer down about that. Secondly you are wrong if VICE wanted to show a body then they should show it at a respectful distance rather than shoving a camera straight in the face of a recently deceased person for nothing but effect that is wrong
Ukrainians has the Bible, and how it helped them to protect their own country? Russians has the Bible too. Crimea and part of Donbass region close to be Russia now, because Russia is more powerfull and cheated Ukraine with Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances(1994y). So, maybe all good people became dead in this part of Europe, because of Russia.
До антитеррористической операции, никто не пострадал и не было никаких жертв, но после начала антитеррористической операции тысячи жертв, кто на сомом деле террорист?

Wtf are all those cameras doing there? Are they trying to film a action movie here or just plain piss off people trying to fight as well as give away their positions!
PAXperMortem No, it's not journalism, it's putting their lives at risk by standing in the line of fire. Can you imagine what would of happened if those Hind D pilots had decided to strafe the rebel troops there? Carnage.
Gosh... If Russia is her motherland... Then, somebody tell her to move out from Ukraine then! Why some people can't move on. It's Ukraine they're live in. It's like when u broke up with your GF, but u still love her.... And pretend that she's still yours.... Move on people! Life goes on!
@@exgangster843 she is moving on, she is saying the Rebel/Russian propaganda on the radio is a lie and her motherland of Russia is doing everything to divide and smash Ukraine, she is voicing your sentiments.
The lady is clearly showing everyone that Russia brainwashes the Russian speakers in Ukraine with anti-Ukraine radio and formented this war. Whatsmore she can see that chechens have been sent in by Russia disguised as 'rebels' to fight. The guy in the hospital cannot identify the soldiers who unsurprisingly have no ID. Why? Because they are Russians.
@Kubabala Bala I guess you have not watched the previous episodes since there were literally chechens in the center of donetsk just an episode of two ago on camera... Kadyrovites have been fighting in Ukraine in 2022 too.
+AshtonColeman This is my favorite war video. it showed russians that they wont just kill us without resistance. thats what they get for bringing russian and chechen mercenaries to start a proxy/war
Anatole ole The rebel wackos that tried to take over a Ukranian airport? What did you think would happen. Ukraine has had a series of things they didn't react to as much as they needed to. Hector's comment is valid. You seem to just not know wtf is going on. ..orrr your part of the wackos.
Its just rebel command in Donetsk itself is weakest from whole rebellion. In Lugansk some exAfghan warvets have taken charge with Don cossacks. In Slaviansk monarhist Strelkov(he have fought in 4 wars, in PMR and Bosnia as volunteer, and in both Chechen wars as part of military, so HAVE HUGE experience in those kind of conflicts). In Gorlovka exGRU are in charge(exit military in 2002 and was director of cemetery), creepy guy, his troops had attacked those military post in Volnovaha, captured Alpha SBU officers, disarmed 120 national guard in Zmeevka.
giorgi bitadze Around a 100 where killed, about 30-40 where DPR. The rest where people that live in the area trying to go about their daily lives. An ambulance was also hit, that's a war crime.
media vultures. just standing around taking pictures 15 guys taking pictures of the guy shot in the leg and only 2 people helping him out. Even if you don't support their cause it's a little heartless.
It's not that they were taking the pictures it's that they were crowding around and either not helping or were within 2 feet not giving them men who WERE helping room. Even in WWII this didn't happen. The Media was very controlled and they only allowed certain reporters to go around and were followed by soldiers to keep them out of the way and safe. This was not the case. The soldiers even asked them to back up and leave the man alone.
so whey we only hear one voice that looking every second behind the shoulder not because she afraid from the russian supporters as she afraid from the ordinary people who will call here a traitor! donetsk people is against the bandra!!
insorte diaboli I'm sure you meant well, and made a valid point, I just can't read it. Say yes or no if I'm correct or not: She's not a Russian supporter, and she's not afraid of the pro-Russians, she is afraid of the misconception that because she lives in the East she must be a traitor.
Vice documentaries are second to none when reporting armed conflict. I have been watching footage from 3 major conflicts going on in the world currently and am thoroughly impressed with and am always captivated by Vice presentations. Good work gentlemen and ladies. I wish some of the pieces presented were longer in length, but enjoy them nonetheless.
if I'm correct, this appears to be just from the 1st battle of Donetsk Airport, which had relatively low casualties, especially by comparison to it's sequel.
5:40 pro-tip: if a hind is approaching you having just done a rocket run. do not stand in the middle of the highway with a camcorder on your shoulder and camera equipment surrounded by hostile troops that just fired at the helicopter minutes earlier.
I give it two weeks or less before Ukrainian Forces take back Donetsk. The Ukrainian Government, up to this point, was unsure of themselves and timid because they may have thought that as a temporary government that they may not have had the authority to act decisively. Now that a new leader has been chosen, by an overwhelming majority (as compared to the other candidates), they will act. Poroshenko did not get to be where he is by being a passive pushover. These terrorist scum should just surrender now and salvage what is left of their treasonous lives.
uegvdczuVF oh, I didnt say the fighting would end in two weeks. I just think that theyll have retaken Donetsk in two weeks. They will have the city under control, but I have no doubt that there still will be fighting.
human151 Doubt it, rebels shut down yet another helicopter today, they have advantage on the ground since majority inhabitants support them, its a logistical nightmare for the Ukr forces. If they try to avoid casualties and shell the towns instead, the Russians will storm in and stomp them out in less then a day taking those territories for them selves.
Wrath L yeah, that is how i see it too. Urban combat is always slow and bloody, and any tactic used by Ukrainian army witch will cause massive destruction and/or high civilian casualties would lose them support of the west and invite Russia...
Yes,the Ukrainian government is so much more legitimate now being run by willy wonka from the chocolate factory. It's funny that Ukrainians don't understand that they have done nothing more than replace an old oligarch with a new one.OH GOD SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE!I give it two weeks before Poreshenko becomes a complete puppet of the west.
What is weird in that naming? When someone fights for independence from the government of country they live in they are a rebel/separatist, there are rebels fighting in Donbass right now next to the soldiers of Russian Federation.
It's kind of humorous seeing the soldiers ducking, lying flat, moving quickly, and hiding in cover while the journalists just do the opposite, standing straight up and walking calmly in the open.
5:38 that footage of the helicopter turning towards your position coming down the road... you're with the rebels... fuck bro... you got some balls to stand there...
those trucks were really filled with Kadyrov chechens and NOT wounded terrorists (or how you call them 'rebels'). Also, what would you expect to hear from a woman, who says Russia is 'alma mater' ? By the way, most of those rebels in this video have a different accent to that of Donbass region (they are from Russia).
Fuck you Not one is a terrorists. Their people fighting for the land their forefathers walked, something your dumbass wont understand. No Russia troops are in the ukraine
once again, those are not ppl fighting for their land. Dont know where u from, bt next time u'll have elections in your country, I'll come there, organize some idiots, proclaime myself 'national governor' of a new fucking state country. What do u think your government would do?
Candyflipper Opium What? The DPR Did not want to be apart of the Ukraine, so they began actions to split apart. When they started to split the Ukrainian government attacked them. They began fighting for their land and not letting the Ukrainians take it. Another thing, You cannot tell me I don't know where I'm from. Do not.

this is probably the best news series vice has ever done! its so important to show the raw truth of what is happening in the ukraine without any of the mainstream propaganda shit
I flew into Donetsk Airport some years ago. I was a nice airport. Just saw what it looks like now after battle. Wasted. I do not know what those rebels were thinking. Good luck standing up to a MI 28 helicopter firing 20 and 40 mm ammo.
@@pearvar77 wow strange times now its reversed and everyone's understanding of war is way different for some strange reason....oh yeah mainstream media.
It'd be a massacre. Soldiers now a days (some of 'em) give 0 shits about other civilians besides their families. Also non of us civilians would worry..they'd be lazy and think it'd be sorted out in 2 days. Some of us need to get up and take action. We are to cowardly to understand the importance of other countries and our country. If rebels wanted to Impeach Obama...it'd be a killing spree for the Army/Police/Swat. They'd just open fire. Then most likely the Government would win...because us Americans don't get how bad Obama is doing! Whooped dee fucking DOO he killed Osama.
