Ukraine is engaged in a fierce battle with Russian troops near the village of Stepove in Avdiivka. Intense first-person footage shows Ukrainian troops targeting enemy soldiers with a Bradley fighting armoured vehicle. 25mm Bushmaster chain gun fire tore through a Russian BMP-2. Meanwhile, in another video, a pair of Ukrainian Bradleys surrounded a Russian T-90M battle tank also in Stepove. The duo attacked the enemy for nearly ten minutes before they eventually destroyed the T-90 tank. The first Bradley knocked out the enemy’s optics, while the second Bradley finished it off.

They teach bradly gunners to button the tanks (shoot out the optics) with the bushmaster gun. The T90 is especially vulnerable to this type of attack.

@@jack99889988 it's a general statement. The first thing Bradley gunners are taught to do when they encounter a tank is shoot out the optics. Several hits to the optics can be seen. That will delay or prevent the tank from returning fire. The explosion at the end looks more like smoke cannisters going off. The spinning turret is lost control due to damage. Unknown if the Bradley did that

@@jack99889988 The T-90M fired several times at the first Bradley but missed because it was blinded by the Bradleys rapid fire 25mm. The Bradley damaged the T-90 electronics causing it to retreat and start burning. The second Bradley made sure to finish the job.

Bradleys were not intended to fight tanks like this. US army knew that the Bradley would face thanks so it equipped them with TOW missile launcher. The idea was that 1 Bradley would suppress with te cannon. And another one would launch the TOW I believe this UKR attack was made like this due to the lack of Standoff distance for the TOW. But yes, a couple of Bradleys well positioned can halt a tank assault At least for long enough for them to run away

It is not the 1980s. Ammo has advanced as well. Technically, I dont think the 25mm actually penned the tank. More likely ERA and the fire destroyed the T90s ability to really attack back, messed up its systems somehow or created spalling that fragged people inside. Defeated none the less.

@@Lobos222 yes, if you look for a higher quality video of this incident. You will see that the big explosion at the end is most likely the smoke dispenser blowing up. Fun fact about soviet tank doctrine. They train to use smoke as a "creeping curtain" launching smoke ever foward towards the enemy position This is why their smoke dispeners look weird. (And pack so much explosive)

Before battle even started t-90 was hit by fpv drone,shellshocked crew then got fired upon by bradley and still returned fire,t-90m was knocked out from battle(not destroyed) by 2nd fpv drone(not bradley),all 3 crew bailed out and survived.

@@bobsnabby2298 youve got at the start of the video explosion in the side armor even before bradley saw t-90m,after that t-90m returned fire aafter bradleys salvo and missed cause it didnt have spot on it cause of biuldings.After that activated smoke screen and 2nd bradley probably damaged something in turret ring cause it got shots from behind and side armor...tank was still operational but turret ring(probably,we cant know) was damaged. Then crew left and 2nd fpv came in(still not destroying tank) This is combined armor work against t-90,not bradlyes destroying it. Bradleys were not even close in destroying it without firing atgms.

In fact, the gun could penetrate 170+mm of Rolled Homogenous Armor with its Mk. 1 APFSDS shell, and well beyond 200+mm with its Mk. 2. Sweden is the only country using the 40mm Bofors version of the CV90.

He visto muchos videos respecto a este escenario y puedo decir que hay otros videos mas de este episodio, y claramente se ve que la cantidad de municiones de 25 mm disparadas por el Bradley no pudieron destruir el T-90 M, la explosión ocasionada por el T-90M fue por fue por que hicieron explotar minas ERA del propio tanque para disimular y camuflar un poco de las miras infrarrojas o térmicas de los Bradley, en otro video se ve como la tripulación sale del del tanque T-90M y se pone a resguardo para que los rescaten, como asi también la torreta y las miras de este tanque Ruso salieron dañadas y no fue destruido el tanque ya que puede arreglarse las partes dañadas, en mi opinión este video es solo parte de lo sucedido y un poco engañoso.

Bradley seriously damaged the tank, using only 25mm canon, without TOW. Makes T-90 ran out of control. One of the tank crew was captured, two others (disputed, not sure) was killed. Maybe at that moment tank was repairable, maybe already not. But later drone completely destroyed tank remains.

There were more than 40 hits in the tank. Despite this, the tank could move and the crew was not injured. Before the meeting with Bradley, the tank was damaged by mines and could not conduct aimed fire. One can only admire the strength of the T90 tank and its survivability. If the tank had not been damaged, then Bradley would not have had any shanks. This is definite and self-explanatory. The Bradleys wanted to complete with the tank what the mines had not done. It didn 't work out ! The T90 is very sturdy and reliable.

You cannot fire the TOW at speeds > 5mph. Also you need to be at a minimum radius of the TOW for it to be effective . I think they are too close (80 meters?) So the commander's decistion to unload its Bushmaster on the T90 was sound.

@@bdgctruz5786 Yes and at that distance the 25mm Sabot round penetrates more than 60mm per shot. Destruction of T90 is possible if consecutive rounds hit about same spot. To note is the fact that the gunner fired expolisve rounds first ... (Possibly to blind the T90)

There's a tactic where a bradley (or any IFV or APC) use their autocannons to target the vulnerable areas of a tank (like their sensors and optics) which renders the tank crew blind and disables the tank.

The 25mm Bushmaster can't defeat frontal tank armor but there is potential to penetrate side and rear armor. It's pretty accurate to, so at that range it would be easy to knock out all the optics and sensors rendering it blind. It can also lay waste to the era panels rendering them least effective for possible follow up strikes with drones or whatever.

I wonder if Ukraine has any other explosive rounds on their other infantry fighting vehicles aside from the Bradley. Do Russian BMS's, BTR's, etc have explosive rounds?

They dont have the same type of Armor piercing 25mm rounds the Bradley can use, no. Bradley APFSDS shells are tungsten/depleted uranium tipped shells, and they have incredible armor piercing ability. Just google "Bradley 25mm APFSDS shells" and you'll see the shells they are using to kill this tank.

@@csorbalaszlo1920 well they can deal with it, as you can see in the video. They were hit from behind, taken all of that punishment and they still managed to drive away. Its tank, not superman, its not indestructible. I am rather sure that you have missed to make such comments in the video where we have seen how old Russian T72 destroys new Leopard 2A4 in 1 on 1 fight. Although Leopards are far better tanks. Such things happen in combat. It does not deny fact that there is a location in Ukraine today that is popularly know as the "Bradley square", and whole rage of places that are known as "Bradley graveyards".

Those were HE rounds, great against external things like optics. And it drove into a tree after the crew had to abandon the blinded T90. In battle a blind tank = no tank

Keep in mind that in Western context for IFV. The Bradley is considered "junk". The CV90 is a sport car with a better gun and base armor in comparison. Ukraine might produce their own CV90s on license.

The headline isn't true. I saw all of the footage for this one. The T-90 crew bailed out of the tank before it was attacked by drones, the two Bradley vehicles only lightly damaged the tank but did not destroy it. This was also a lone tank being sent into a destroyed town, which is not typical procedure.

I think your bosses in Moscow showed you a wrong video footage. The tank was hit until it went on fire, and then started moving erratically with his turret madly turning until it hit a tree. Only then the crew got out and ran away before the tank exploded. As for sending a single tank into battle, it is a common practice for russian command.

It is a LIE: the bradleys just hit the granade lancher of the T90 which DID NOT explode, and its crew simply run away. The T90 was later recovered, now that area is under Russian control. Period.

Au début de la vidéo, c'est contre un BMP2 pas un T90M ! le 25 mm du Bradley n'aurait jamais pu détruire un T90M ! impossible même à cette distance ! blindage trop épais !
