Spotted lanternflies are back in New Jersey; they’re in trees, on city streets and even at the Jersey Shore. Swarming in large numbers, the infamous invasive bugs from Asia are destructive to a wide range of plants and crops. Entomologists have learned a lot about spotted lanternflies, how they grow, what they eat, and how their droppings, called honeydew, can kill plants.

How hard is it to Google what eats the lantern flies in Asia?

The birds don't eat because of the spotted dots. They think there poisonous. If they only knew there an abundant safe food source for birds. Hopefully they figure it out soon and start chowing on them.

I killed about 2000 this season. I could have killed about 5 thousand more if I had the strength, it's very tiring to keep swatting them. One after another they march up my building wall.

I kill like 20 of these a day just by my front yard. Bottle trick is pretty good.
