The Algerian revolution for independence is one of the greatest in history. I'm quite certain that the Palestinians draw inspiration from the history and revolution of Algeria. The Algerian Revolution stands as a powerful testament to the resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit of a people seeking to reclaim their autonomy and dignity. It was a pivotal moment in history, challenging the status quo and demanding justice, equality, and self-determination. Today, as we reflect on this historic struggle, it serves as a reminder that the fight for freedom and justice is a universal endeavor, one that transcends borders and unites us all in our shared quest for a more just and equitable world. The lessons of the Algerian Revolution continue to inspire and remind us of the power of ordinary individuals to effect extraordinary change.

The only lessons of the algerian independance is that : -algerian use terrorism and systematic mass killing of innocent civilians. - algerian only won because the french were betrayed by their own political establishement. the algerian revolutionnaries were almost totally wipeout except for some people in hiding. -independance mean nothing, because after the independance, a lot of algerian come to France because their can't build a proper country, who became (and still is) is shithole without the european. Cheers !

Its a mark of sheer determination and unwavering spirit how The algerians fought valiantly to reclaim their freedom from the french invader who never wanted to leave Algeria at all cost. They suffered casualties, atrocities and unrelented tortures but they never succumbed to the french, much loves from tanzania East africa.

@@KM-ge5ek Perhaps not a civil war by definition. But certainly an internal conflict whereby both sides have understandable but wholly incompatible aims which lead to an extremely bloody and violent struggle. Either way, the young lads doing the fighting have no personal quarrel with their enemies, and had they been born in a different part of town they may be on a different side. Just a sad reflection on the tragic nature of war but also the fact that open conflict is often the answer to differences that cannot be settled any other way.

Every global citizen should explore the inspiring history of the Algerian people. I had the privilege of visiting this fascinating country, particularly the Casbah of Algiers, where the marks of the past remain remarkably preserved. Algeria, a true haven for revolutionaries, has welcomed iconic figures such as Che Guevara and Nelson Mandela, offering refuge and support to those fighting for freedom and justice. This country, with its rare beauty, defends the oppressed with remarkable intensity and authenticity. Algerians are honest and welcoming, making Algeria an invaluable treasure🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿.

The production director of the film The Battle of Algiers recently stated in a television interview that the role of Ali La point in the film was intended for the American actor Charles Bronson. He gave Charles his initial approval to play the role of Ali La point , but during the filming days Charles Bronson was unable to attend due to other commitments in Hollywood. Charles Bronson would have given the film a special flavor and an international boost

I don't get why they included that is was screened by the Pentagon? Both Germany and America screen and check over most movies to see if it will spark violence. In Germany they want to make sure that neo-n@zis won't be influenced to start doing terrorists attacks and America does the same

There is a reason The Battle of Algiers is required viewing for U.S. military officers in training. While the events depicted occurred in the 1950's, the issues involved and tactics deployed are as relevant today as they were then: an Islamist movement, assassination of police officers, drive by shootings and terrorist bomb attacks against civilians, and the torture of suspects using water and electric shock by military interrogators are all here. The film documents the escalating violence leading up to Algerian Independence from France. It was shot in Algeria using a large number of Algerian and French actors. Both sides are given equal screen time and the film is in Arabic and French with subtitles. The story is presented in a neutral documentary style. Both sides did some bad things and there is no attempt to spin or cherry pick the story for political purposes as might be expected if it were made by today's "woke" film makers. This neutral approach lends credibility to the film. Algerian Independence was attained in 1962 and the film was shot in 1965. All major events depicted actually occurred, and the leader of the violent organization behind the revolution (the FLN) plays himself in the movie.

Oh, absolutely, it's so easy to label the FLN as a "violent organization" when you completely ignore 132 years of French atrocities in Algeria. I mean, who wouldn't be a little miffed after decades of apartheid, genocidal policies, and, oh, just the minor inconvenience of having 45,000 Algerians slaughtered in a single day in Sétif and Guelma-because they had the audacity to celebrate the end of a war where a quarter of a million North Africans fought on the frontlines for the Allies. But yeah, let’s focus on those pesky "Islamists" and their drive-by shootings. And isn't it just adorable how the movie is praised for its "neutral" portrayal? After all, it's not like the French-controlled parts of the city were portrayed as bastions of civilization while conveniently glossing over the brutal massacres and white supremacist violence happening elsewhere. Because nothing says "balanced storytelling" like ignoring the context of colonial oppression that led to the uprising in the first place. But hey, as long as it's required viewing for U.S. military officers, we can all rest easy knowing it's presenting the "whole" story, right? 😉

Too the people who don't really know the history of the Algerian War 130 years ago. To say that Palestine suffered more. Read about the ugliness of the crimes committed by France against the Algerian people and the detonation of a nuclear bomb more powerful than Hiroshima with Algerians as experimental mice. Until now, that region suffers from diseases. God willing, Palestine will be liberated. But do not compare the pain and struggle of the Algerian people. You do not know their history through a movie only
