The Battle of the Little Bighorn, known to the Lakota and other Plains Indians as the Battle of the Greasy Grass and also commonly referred to as Custer's Last Stand, was an armed engagement between combined forces of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes and the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army. The battle, which resulted in the defeat of U.S. forces, was the most significant action of the Great Sioux War of 1876. It took place on June 25-26, 1876, along the Little Bighorn River in the Crow Indian Reservation in southeastern Montana Territory.

What a one sided gibberish crap Who was that silly girl ??? “Oh I found out I was 1 in 5000 Sioux “. With no idea about how brutal and inhumane the Sioux were . They won the battle but lost the war The Sioux leaders are war criminals for their behaviour !!!!! Who cares what the court thinks - Progression cannot he stopped . Deadwood etc . Good luck there . American Indians had as many slaves as confederates . Stop trying to change history / or only give 1 side Custer was a hopeless leader - outnumbered by thousands . What would have happened if Custers men decapitated Sioux fallen

Cultural genocide and cultural appropriation of the Indigenious People in Canada and the US, Mexico, Central and South America, and across the World is tragic and atrocious. Creator and Creation blesses and rests the souls and spirits of the Indigenious. Spirit is helping the Reclamation of our Culture, Language, Traditions, and Beliefs of our People through Father Sky and Mother Earth, and through the generational blood and Spirits of our living Ancestries.

@rolux4853

What is much sadder, is that it doesn’t even spoken about in US schools! It should be a topic like the holocaust in Germany! What „Americans“(i.e. european immigrants) did to the Native American and the black slaves should be mentioned in one sentence with the atrocities of the Third Reich instead of getting swept under the rug! The biggest shame of the USA cannot be overcome as long as it’s overlooked! Bring it to the mind of every kid in school so it can’t be repeated in the future! Our blood has the same color and the age old saying of „United we Stand, Divided we Fall“ will be much more important in the next decades when China tries to be the world’s leader… We all have to stand together if we want our world order to be the same in 20 years no matter the color is our skin. Unity is the only way our free and democratic world can continue!

Question for all you Custer nerds out there: When I was a kid (mid 50s) I visited a Ripley's-Believe-It-Or-Not exhibit purporting to show a necklace made from the trigger fingers of all of Custer's men killed at the battle. As a credulous kid in those innocent times, I believed it, and was enthralled to see it. As an older, more sceptical adult in these jaded times, I'm inclined to disbelieve it. Was right then, or now? In this documentary, a comment by one of the narrators regarding the Washita River incident referred to it as a battle. How could it be a battle when the vast majority of victims were women and children. It was a massacre carried out by Custer and his men. I believe Custer was a complete foot with a grossly overblown personal ego.

Nothing did more to create the myths of the Wild West than Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, the Penny Dreadfuls and the Dime Novels. Then came even more western romantic litterature, artworks, films and comics to amplify it - and one of the most mythical but also forged figures is George Armstrong Custer and his 'heroic last stand'.

Custer was good for early dawn raids against sleeping Indians, even though they flew the 'Stars and Stripes' to show that they were not hostile. Custer was no Indian fighter per se, if he were, he would not have sacrificed his life and the lives of his command at the Greasy Grass rout. Generals like R,S.MacKensie, G. Crook or N.Miles were true Indian fighters.

@@charrua59 Custer and his men attacked a Cheyenne village flying the Star Spangled Banner that adorned a tall lodge-pole next to Chief Black Kettle's lodge. It was a peaceful village, with no Dog Soldier warriors or Dog soldier Chiefs there. History, both oral and written, tells us the morning air was cold, with a stiff breeze, so the American National flag would not have be hanging limply, but fluttering instead. Also, history tells us that dawn had cracked; visibility was good. Accounts from several of Custer's troopers there at the time (years after Custer's death),, acknowleged this; with all respect to you. Custer was Custer; a pathological killer. He could no more restrain himself than anything of his ilk could; in my opinion.

At that time, the cavalry were using the Springfield trapdoor carbine. It had greater range and accuracy than the Winchester, Spencer, and Henry rifles, but was a single shot weapon. They were despised by other tribes The Sioux are nothing short of disgusting . No honour . They decapitated fallen soldiers . Scalping , Beheading , removing organs , limbs , torn to shreds - post mortem . And they wanted to be treated with respect ???? Standing Rock etc are war criminals He should have later been taken to Washington for trial - desecration of fallen soldiers Whatever you say about Custer , no soldier deserves to die that way , under the leadership of a foolish leader in Custer . Imagine the modern loony lefty’s if Custer’s victorious men decapitated fallen Indians cancel culture . The girl, all smiling , with no idea , having found out she was Sioux 1 in 500 is disturbing .
