Dive into this iconic naval battle that changed the course of World War II. Aircraft carriers truly proved their worth in this engagement as two powerful navies fought for naval supremacy and control over the strategic Midway Island. Reeling from the attack at Pearl Harbor, the United States desperately needed to stop the ever-expanding Japanese empire. After intercepting and deciphering Japanese communications, the U.S. Navy prepared to defend its strategic position in the Pacific at all costs.

Turning point of war in Pacific was Guadalcanal/Solomon campaing. This battle of attrition was thing, that broke camel back.

Yes, Guadalcanal/Soloman Campaign were significant victories and helped seal the deal for the U.S., but Midway occurred prior and was the decisive naval engagement which halted the Japanese advance in the Pacific and paved the way for the United States' Island-Hopping Campaign, which included Guadalcanal. Without the U.S. victory at Midway, there would almost certainly not have been a Solomon Campaign. Excellent input though. Greatly appreciate the discussion.

That would be tough being a codebreaker or a commander who knew the code had been broken, having information that would save lives and allow casualties to happen in order to keep that information secret for the bigger picture.

The British had broken German codes using Enigma, had the same problem of not using the intelligence.

"The bravery displayed by the men and women involved..." I wasn't aware there were any women involved in the Battle of Midway.

lol well, there were women on the code breaking team which helped with the intelligence gathering and plenty of women served in non-combat roles during the war, but no, not directly in the battle. Simple AI assisted typo that I didn't catch during final review. Good Catch though.
