Description: "The Battle of New Orleans" is a song written by Jimmy Driftwood. The song describes the Battle of New Orleans from the perspective of an American soldier; the song tells the tale of the battle with a light tone and provides a rather comical version of what actually happened at the battle. It has been recorded by many artists, but the singer most often associated with this song is Johnny Horton.
LYRICS:
In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans
[CHORUS] We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
We looked down a river and we see'd the British come
And there must have been a hundred of 'em beatin' on the drum
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
We stood behind our cotton bales and didn't say a thing
[CHORUS]
Old Hickory said, "We could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye"
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well
Then we opened up our squirrel guns and gave 'em
[CHORUS]
Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round
We filled his head with cannonballs 'n' powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind
[CHORUS]
Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[CHORUS]

IDK if you wanted more info, but it's about the battle of New Orleans fought in 1814 in the war we refer to as the war of 1812 (southern Louisiana, where the Mississippi flows into Mexico). This battle was fought after the peace treaty was signed with the British, but before the news had reached the soldiers. This is when "Ol' Hickory" Andrew Jackson became famous as a war hero. He would later become president, and is why one of the main parties mascot is a donkey (in reference to the similarity of Jackson and jackass).

Had it not been for the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the tragic result of the Trail of Tears, Andrew Jackson would have been otherwise been a great President and a great American hero! But, instead because of what Andrew Jackson did to the Cherokee Native Americans and the other southeastern Native American tribes, Andrew Jackson is unfortunately one of America's greatest villains! Ironically, there were Cherokee riflemen on the side Colonel Jackson who fought against the British at the Battle of New Orleans.

Wrong British flag at 0:45. That flag was only used between May 1, 1707 and December 31, 1800 for the Kingdom of Great Britain. On January 1, 1801 the Kingdom of Ireland was unified with that of Great Britain as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. and the Cross of St. Patrick was added to the previous British flag making the current flag. The Battle of New Orleans was fought 14 years and 1 week later on January 8, 1815.

if the south got invaded I would not be that surprised if they trained alligators to hunt down the orcs, not that they really would need to, in the US there are more guns than people and that aint even counting the military, admiral Yamamoto was quoted as saying "there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass" when asked about invading the US main, in the states there are large numbers of civilians who are better equipped than russian spetsnaz special forces, there are more MODERN guns in the US civilian market than the entire chinese military (the QBZ is a shitty AK clone NOT a modern rifle like emperor xi the pooh claims).
