On May 10, 1940, Germany invaded the Netherlands, with the aim of securing the bridges. While most bridges are taken without much resistance, they encounter unexpected resistance at the strategically important bridge of Goselink. Four brave Dutch soldiers led by a driven sergeant refuse to give in to the superior force of 700 German soldiers. Despite the lack of ammunition and reinforcements, they brave the enemy and defend the bridge with their lives.
They hold their ground for four intense hours, managing to repel the enemy time and time again.
But at 8 a.m. the ammunition runs out and the Dutch soldiers have to surrender. The Goselink bridge has fallen, but their heroic battle will be remembered forever in the history of the Netherlands.
This is the story of the fearless warriors who fought to the last bullet, at a time when the country stood tall against an overwhelming threat. This is the story of "The Battle of the Bridges of Coevorden"
