This kit is designed for organizations and emergency response groups, not for keeping in your backseat. If the price throws you then purchase a smaller kit, i highly recommend you do and get training.

I'm liking this setup!! Right now I have a 5.11 sling bag for when I'm not there mainly as TEMS but I took the NAR W.A.L.K bag removed the litter and rebuilt it with tac litters and Throw kits. That's what i run when my job the day is TEMS

I can understand that a mass casualty kit isn’t expected to be cheap. The tourniquets alone almost cost as much as my whole kit. $300 in CATS and the bag alone is $450. I’d say that itself is a little excessive

Mine is $65, swat-t, expired combat gauze, a IV cover (can be used as a chest seal) and a bandaid.

@ewat2102 4 месяца назад
@socotrailtruckers7668 you could save more money by just using a used rubber glove as a chest seal and some old duct tape.

You said it yourself - it is a MASS casualty kit. This isn't anything like a personal boo-boo kit you would take with you on a hike and that you can put together for relatively little money. Think of it as the "Lets make sure that you don't die within the next 20-30 Minutes" kit. This is for "shit has gone sideways in a major way and people will absolutely die if help is not coming quick" events. One TQ, a pair of rubber gloves, a safety pin, 10 ft of Paracord, two Advils and a bunch of band-aids & blister pads aren't going to cut it here. Imagine an industrial accident, a bus crashing and flipping over, or a passenger train. Boom, dozens of potential casualties at once. Not all of them will need every but of kit in there, but if I had to answer to that scene, I would rather have 3 TQs too many than be one short. Also, if you carry this thing, other crews can get material off that bag if need be. And you would probably have three or four of those running on a really big scene. But cost is no factor when you put together a kit that you and several others have to stake their lives on. And stuff like that is not cheap, and has never been. You want to have something that you know will work, and which will be durable under stress and in a less than ideal environment. Like snow, rain, mud, rubble, what have you. It is all fine and dandy if you can use it while you are in a stress free, well lit and clean environment without tons of adrenaline pumping, people screaming, sirens blaring etc. There is a reason why all the equipment in an ambulance costs tens of thousands of dollars. A portable ventilator alone is going to run you 20 grand, and it is not something that looks super spectacular. It has to be absolutely reliable, and cannot be something that is cobbled together with duct tape and shoe strings. So the stuff in those bags that paramedics take with them when they get out of their big red car is worth 40 grand easily. And if you happen to be that person who seriously needs help, you want ALL the "excess" you can get, trust me.

Well, if your kit is only $300 you’re almost certainly not a swat door kicker military combat medic or what this kit is actually designed for if it’s not designed for you it’s just not designed for you!, but I wouldn’t bash people that are getting information on a kit that is made for them.

Hey buddy I am a medical volunteer out here in Ukraine. I am currently away from hot AO's. So I ALWAYS carry my medical bag with me. Because the patriot systems are great but things do get through the net. Anyways, I wanted to ask you what material is that tape? I cant seem to find that material or able to translate that properly to even find it. Its a great idea for Mas cas and honestly we sure do have them specially with the double taps on civs. (I am a poor volunteer) Great videos and I always tell legion or regular guard units to watch your videos as a pointer, keep doing the good work man. I would like to point out one thing, viewers I know hes talking about the bag but always remove plastic from TQ's because thats how you die.

Beautiful kit but nowhere near affordable to even bystanders. $1500.00 for the basic kit is more than im sure a lot of bystanders are willing to spend on a mass casualty kit. Worth it in todays society?- yes. Expensive?-even more so...

a glove pouch might be nice to molly onto the outside. Condor makes one, the Condor EMT Glove pouch, that has been working great for me. PPE should be just as accessible as a TQ but i never would buy this kit. i don't have tax payer funding for stuff like this.

Folks, 99% of all these are overpriced as a retired paramedic I can tell you you can buy a pack and purchase your own supplies for a third of the price or less. These bags are a rip off in terms of cost.

Awesome to see different MASCAL kits coming on the market! Got a query on the triage categories: in the UK, we're now using the Ten Second Triage approach, with casualties allocated between four categories: immediate, urgent, delayed, or not breathing. Do you think the "not breathing" category will be seen in the USA before long? It was something that developed here in the aftermath of various terror attacks, as it became obvious that various casualties in cardiac arrest could have received life support once sufficient personnel were on scene, but didn't because they were already marked as dead.
@hoerah
@hoerah 4 месяца назад
Not breathing in a masscall situation means dead. You don't have the time to do cpr in a masscall
@charliewilliams2418
@charliewilliams2418 4 месяца назад
@@hoerah With the greatest respect, that is simply not the case. The essence of triage is that when casualties outstrip available resources, we try to do the most for the most. But, when enough boots are on the ground, we can and do start to treat casualties who aren't breathing. It's no longer considered acceptable to just write off casualties who aren't breathing as lost causes, unless they have obvious injuries incompatible with life, e.g. decapitation, hemicorporectomy or >95% full thickness burns. If you check out the Ten Second Triage tool, you'll see the instruction at the bottom right: "CPR if resources allow".
@PrepMedic
@PrepMedic 4 месяца назад
We have an “expectant” category in some triage models that is essentially the same thing but it doesn’t take the place of black tags, it’s a separate category.
@charliewilliams2418
@charliewilliams2418 4 месяца назад
@@PrepMedic We have the expectant/T4 category over here as well, but only in the armed forces and only on breathing casualties. In practice, it would only be used if a unit was under effective fire, without sufficient manpower, and with no chance of casevac for a casualty with severe multisystem injuries and poor prognosis. Otherwise, it wouldn't be ethical to ration treatment to live casualties. In permissive circumstances, UK battlefield casualty drills for those not breathing emphasise a request for additional personnel, then commencement of BLS. In civvy street, it became clear that casualties with slow or shallow resp rates were being triaged as dead, as were arrested casualties with reversible causes. Even in the absence of sufficient medical personnel, bystanders could be directed to begin CPR if safe to do so until trained staff arrived.
