We were delighted to welcome Britain's best-known classicist to Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2018. Mary's scholarly, yet accessible style has made her both a popular presenter and very public intellectual. In conversation with Charlotte Moore, Director of Content at the BBC, Mary discussed her broadcasting career, which includes co-presenting a major new series of Civilisations, along with David Olusoga and Simon Schama, as well as her most recent book, Women & Power: A Manifesto, hailed as a modern feminist classic.

I've seen many programmes with Mary Beard. Her way of talking, presenting ancient times is remarkable.

It find it baffling that someone with so much intelligence, passion, insight and knowledge would be judged on what she looks like rather than what she knows. It's obviously ridiculous to judge anyone just on appearance but especially when someone is so self aware and so knowledgeable.

I am so glad we live in a time where not only can we read her books but we can listen to her speak. Mary Beard is brilliant! I am in the US BTW.

My argument would be showing the clips this way during a speaking engagement would qualify as "Fair use" copyright...short tiny clips that are just inserts.
