Disney is being ridiculous… they don’t understand Beatle fans… we would buy 120 hours of extended cuts if they were made available…it’s freaking history.
I would definitely buy an extended cut. I bought all the albums on vinyl and then again on CD and then again remastered. Why woukd we huge fans not want to buy the entire 60 hours?
Everyone I know (I’ve seen celebrities say the same thing), that has seen the Disney+ & are a true Beatles fans……..say they could have watched more & more. Me included. I could sit & watch & listen to the Beatles all day, especially the “Let it Be/Get Back . Just watching them work is amazing but also the fact that John & George are no longer with us, it’s like they are still here. John’s humor is one of the things I miss (other than the music he still had left), he always made me laugh so much. 🤣😂💔❣️
What email address can we send it to? We should all send an email to tell Disney we will cancel our streaming service if they’re not interested in doing an extended cut. I only signed up because Get Back was coming on there. It’s the only thing I watch but I did do the presale & got the DVD.
PAID for a Disney Plus subscription specifically for 'Get Back' and was NOT disappointed. Even my girlfriend, a non-Beatles fan, enjoyed every hour. Only wish I'd caught the abbreviated IMAX version at theaters!!!
So far they have not released full versions of "Long and Winding Road", "Let It Be", "For You Blue", "I Me Mine" and "Two of Us". Full versions of the songs is the most important part. The original "Let It Be" movie had full versions of all those songs. No excuse to withhold any songs. How much longer do we have to wait? Why don't they release the "Let It Be" movie?
I remember hearing about a 25-minute Helter Skelter around the time Anthology was released, and rumor was that it was going to be on Vol 3. It never did happen, though.
I ordered the Get Back blu-ray 2 weeks after its release (my bad for not pre-ordering). Over 6 weeks later, I'm still waiting for the item to be back in stock and the order to be fulfilled. Earliest estimate is mid October, if that ever happens. They don't even produce enough quantity for the existing Get Back, I doubt if there will be an extended cut, at least not with Dsiney as part of the decision making process for Beatles material.
It feels like ALL this extended footage will eventually be made available. But the people (like me) who grew up with the band, will miss out on the Holy Grail thru death. At some point, the people who crave this material will no longer exist in the same numbers as now.
Exactly. Daft mistake by Disney. Besides which, what's wrong with doing a little public service now and then for the very people who've been watching their films all their lives [themselves, and later with their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren]?
I just yesterday finished watching Get Back again and found it all the more fascinating. I would welcome an extended cut with an interrupted rooftop gig. Much as I found the police interruption interesting/amusing, the gig was so good that I would like to see it all. A sometimes shambolic preparation magically came together. That's the measure of the greatest band in history. The other thing I would love to see is the full version of the rocky 'Two Of Us'. There's actually more of that in the original Let It Be movie which I am old enough to remember on the BBC.
There’s NO WAY that an Extended Cut wouldn’t sell!! How many people postponed buying it on Blu Ray because there were no deleted scenes and you could already watch it on Disney+?!
Cool an extended cut... I would suggest puttingvtogether a concert of the live performances that would have been what Paul wanted to brings to fruition. No cut always to audiences, just the 10 or twelve songs they played live, but did not rehearse enough to do all at once in a show. Just a hope... I would mitvwznt the pure Disney version, after 50 years ( I was there in 69) I would love the ultimate fan edition... Anyway, it is awesome you resurrected this footage. It definitely documents the break between George Pauil and John. More than ever I see hiw inevitable it was and I aee that both John and George suggested an opening for the Beatles to continue. However, it showed the live and how love becomes music that still inspires and uplifts 50 years later... Thanks
It seema crazy that Disney+ said no to an extended cut. I would have thought that it would've boosted sales of the bluray for it to be an extended cut considering the streaming version is what was released on bluray. Or at the least, additional footage as extras.
2022: Disney+ to Peter Jackson, "Nobody is buying extended cuts any more... " 1962: Decca Records to Brian Epstein, "Guitar groups are going out of fashion... " ...same old same old.
Paul McCartney had an Epiphone Rivoli bass at Savile Row (I'm not sure if at Twickenham too). Did he ever played it? What about the Rickenbacker? Not even after he took the pain off?
Also Disney is crazy to think there’s no market for an extended version……..everyone would buy it. Ppl are upset that they can’t get the regular version. I got mine 🥰
Hey lads, new content is NEW content! -Alan deserves the attention- no excuses- Please! - They would be losers without his energy- The LOST is the natural order...
I sent my email begging for an extended cut. I'm NOT a rabid fan, but I'd buy it. I've NEVER streamed anything,....not my thing,....but I'm streaming Get Back for a month and watching it for the second time. May squeeze in a third watch before Disney+ gets kicked to the curb.
My god. We sat through THREE Anthology CDs. We’ve been pouring over everything that’s been released about The Beatles since they divorced. How the hell can Disney and Apple still believe Beatles fans wouldn’t be interested in an extended cut???? We care about ALL of it. My god.
Really! And they kept playing the same songs over and over again. Cut it down to once per song and you could have got this movie down to an hour. I'm a Beatles fan but come on already!!
It seems the problem here is that some millennial at Disney, ARE or wherever, didn’t live through the greatest transformation in popular music ever; called the Beatles. These millennials make THE decisions.
Extended cut of the long Let it be version...no. Didn't like Get Back that much. Soooooo damm long and the songs of the concert were not isolated....so we got the same shit as the original movie...the editing....?? ....I dont know. ...lousy, clumsy...half assed...If George or John were alive...wouldn't allow it.
