***** I don't like the beatles. but this song helped me remember Merle, a girl. All girl; not a sodomite lessie at all. She was a real girl. I met her when this song came out and I still remember her. My first love. Never should have let her go.
The thing with One Direction (and I respect all artists) is that a few years after they break up, people will forget them, forget their music. The Beatles, on the other hand, have this legacy that will carry on for ages. Their music will stay forever.
I do agree that the beatles legacy still stay strong.. But I just wanna say that I didnt just forget 1D easily.. They are also a part of many young girls life today.. I dont think that any band could replace them in my heart because I grew up with them..
Just started listening to the beatles today, and i regret not hearing them before, by far the most amazing band i've ever listened to in my life, thumbs up if you agree!
I was a teen in the 80's, watched Shea Stadium on a tiny black and white telly and was beyond excited, learned guitar listening to George Harrison. Every bit a Beatle-manic, just born in the wrong decade :)
You're not the only one. My dad introduced me to The Beatles with Let It Be, Don't Let Me Down, and Hey Jude. Hell, I wasn't even alive when The Beatles broke up.
Man, It was 1961. Subic Bay Philippines. As a Young Marine going into a bar. They were Playing this song. Ice Cold San Miguel Beer. It don't get any better then this.. Thank you for the memories..
Frijolero18 You are so correct.. It was 1963 Actually I was there in 1961 when I was in K/3/3/3rd Division and In 1963 F/2/9 / 3rd MARINE Division.. I feel so ashamed for misleading the You Tube Community... By The Way did you serve? If yes thank you for your service....
I try to convince my friends that without The Beatles and a select few other bands, the bands that they are addicted to would never exist. The Beatles definitely set the foundation for today's music. I wish they would realize that. -_-
Yeah. Kids today need to learn rock/ pop history. Of course, it didn't start with the Beatles, but the Beatles changed the formula for other upcoming bands that are famous today. The kids today need to begin learning "The Beatles"101, and go from there.
THANK YOU. Beatles are like the Gods. One Direction... i respect them, since they sing, got famous, and idk if they play any instruments. But The Beatles are top.
Where the hell has rock ended up? From this to Beiber. Someone please tell me we are ready to take a detour. Stupendous, fantastic and wonderfully great song.
The day after tomorrow I'll be in Montevideo, Uruguay, at Paul McCartney's concert at the Centenario Stadium. Third time I'll see him and can never get enough. The music of the Beatles is the soundtrack of my life.
Paul wrote this in October '62. He was 20, barely out of his teens. What's with the paedophilia talk? Come on! And he couldn't write "eighteen", "nineteen" or "twenty" because the rhythm would have been wrong. What do you suggest..."Well she was just twenty three / That's three years older than me" ?
+Oliver Estieeenbachner ... "We're bigger than god." an interview with a deaf reporter. What they in fact said was "We're bigger than Rod." Rod Stewart would not have a hit record for another 5 years. So it is written in the Book Of Rutles :)
+Magnus LaBillois ...Law is one thing. Moral bearings can be another. There are people under the age of 16 who are physically, psychologically and emotionally mature enough for sex. At the same time there are vulnerable people above the age of 16, well into their 20's or 30's who are like children mentally and just considering having sex with them is a form of paedophilia.
To all the people saying 1D is better than The Beatles... *clears throat* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO You know, why isn't there a character limit? And why can't I reply to Olivia's comment? Fuck Google.
Cole Dickson It's virtual points, who cares? Christ, you act like it's the end of the world. It's not. People liked his joke more, even if it was more recent, so they upvoted it more. I upvoted him and not you because you're having a little temper tantrum about these virtual points.
Whenever I listen to this song, this is what I imagine and I'm pretty sure every other girl imagines this too: Me, dancing in some random club when out of the corner of my eye I see Paul. He starts walking over to me and asks me to dance. We dance the night away and we live happily after with our children, Cassidy, Amber, and Mike. :)
Lola, honey, but the Beatles were exactly what most girls, average girls, used to listen to back then. The Beatles were hugely popular for the exact same reason as today's teen heartthrobs and their songs just as catchy. Listening to the Beatles doesn't make you better than "most girls"; you're good enough just as you are and you don't need music to improve or show off. Love to you!
(1,2,3,4!) Well, she was just 17 You know what I mean And the way she looked was way beyond compare So how could I dance with another (Ooh) When I saw her standing there Well she looked at me, and I, I could see That before too long I'd fall in love with her She wouldn't dance with another (Whooh) When I saw her standing there Well, my heart went "boom" When I crossed that room And I held her hand in mine... Whoah, we danced through the night And we held each other tight And before too long I fell in love with her Now I'll never dance with another (Whooh) Since I saw her standing there Well, my heart went "boom" When I crossed that room And I held her hand in mine... Whoah, we danced through the night And we held each other tight And before too long I fell in love with her Now I'll never dance with another (Whooh) Since I saw her standing there
Sunday night, Ed Sullivan show, 1964, 19 inch black and white portable television, it left an impression on me I will never forget. Simple written/playable song, no special sound effects........... just talent.
You know i never liked the earlier Beatles tunes, but looking back in my life in retrospect and hearing these songs now brings me back to being in the car with my dad when i was younger, and i think to myself now " You know what this era of Beatles music wasnt that bad".
Olivia back then the Beatles were like One Direction. All the girls loved them and all the guys liked the music. The only difference is that they don't bang each other after every show
Katja Schumann The young man who has assembled this collection of Beatles music is from Germany. I think it is the greatest collection ever assembled you can find it on You Tube:-) I'm signing of now. I hope you have a pleasant evening . Maureen :-)
I Saw Her Dying There 詞lyrics: 2017 Asia & Group Well she was just seventy,You know what I mean,And the way she looked, was way beyond ninety,So how could I dance with another,Oh - When I saw her dying there! Well she looked at me,And I - I could see,Well not long ago,she fell in sick with cold, o she wouldn't dance, with another,Oh - When I saw her dying there Well my heart went sad when I crossed that room, And I held her hand in mine Oh we talked through the night,And we shook hands other tight,And before too long,I fell in love with her,Now I'll never talk,With another,Oh - when I saw her dying there,Since I saw her dying there!
An all time rocker. Paul's base and Ringo's drumming powers this. The live version from their first appearance in Washington where John pumps Ringo during the solo, really rocks.
+Ana Birmile Their synergy was awesome. Ringo had a habit of playing slightly behind the beat while John was a piledriver of a rhythm guitarist - it's the tension between the two Beatles' unique sense of timing..add Paul's bass...and then add some tasty Harrison licks..et voila. Before The Beatles ever had a drummer they would make up for things by developing strong rhythm in the guitars. Pete Best was a really bad drummer so John really developed his rhythm playing. Listen to Hard Day's Night, Anytime At All, Help - John was a super potent rhythm guitarist. His relaxed but powerful strumming technique and sense of timing combined with Ringo's unique slightly-behind-the-beat timing - that creates a unique tension in the momentum. "Something" is a culmination of years of experience with each other. No particular Beatle(s) are "driving" the song - it's practically a free-floating entity - there's enough space for Paul there to use the bass less as a driving force keeping time with the drums - but as an instrument of soaring melody. Here Comes The Sun...on this George song Paul is definately propelling things along. On Something he is more in the air with the angels than on the ground ;) And Ringo is loose, really loose even in the mid 8 where things get busier. It's amazing the whole piece doesn't fall apart - that's years of learning to gel as musicians. Finally I also love George's tone in "Standing There" , Ana. He was after a Hank Marvin sound like The Shadow's "FBI" apparently. Peace, love and inspiration to all !
While in 1964 everyone was going apeshit over Beatles' I Wanna Hold Your Hand, I was loving the B side, which was this song, I Saw Her Standing There. I could listen to it over and over a hundred times or more, there's just something so breakthrough about it. Thanks so much for presenting it here.
In 1964, I was 5 yrs old. I asked my Dad for $1 one day, he asked me what i wanted it for. I told him a record of a song i just heard on the radio. He gave it to me and i bought this record. The flip side was "I wanna hold your hand" The first record i ever bought. I still have it, cant play it, LOL, but still have it. Been a Beatle freak ever since =) R.I.P. John and George. Thanks for all the great music and memories.
